“Happy birthday baby girl” I heard my boyfriend, AJ McLean whisper in my ear as I woke up to the feel of kisses on my shoulder and neck. I opened my eyes and gazed up into his gorgeous eyes.

“Morning” I said sleepily

“Morning” He whispered with a grin “I got your breakfast in bed” He said and moved back from the bed. He turned around and picked something up off the Hotel room’s small table. He turned around and I sat up. I started laughing when I saw what it was. He had a beautiful red rose in a small vase of water in the middle of the tray with 2 foam containers off McDonald’s coffee, 2 plates of McDonalds Hot cakes and 2 hash browns. I sat up entirely and he sat the tray down near me and smiled.

“Alex, you shouldn’t have” I said. He just smiled.

“I wanted to get you a real breakfast, but the only place open on public holidays is Macca’s” He said

“It’s the thought that counts” I said. He smiled again. I loved his smile. We ate the breakfast and talked easily. We’d been able to do that since we met, last year. When we were done he cleaned up and sat next to me on the double bed.

“Here’s the deal” He said “The fella’s and I gotta do some promotional interview thing at 8, it won’t finish until about 9-9:30, but than I’m free until 1, so I was thinking I could take you shopping, and I think the guys wanna have lunch with you for your birthday, what do you say?” While he was talking he was holding on to my hands and playing with my fingers. He made me fel so special.

“I say that’s a good idea” I said. He smiled some more. Lately this man was smiling a lot. When I asked why, he just kept telling me it was because he had me. That was sweet.

“I’ll let you get dressed and tell the guys what we’re gonna do” He said standing up. I nodded. He bent down and kissed me softly.

“I love you babe” He said

“I love you too” I said and blew him a kiss as he walked out the door. I got out of bed and found some clothes before going into the bathroom. I had a hot shower and remembered the day we met.

“Hey, watch where you’re going” I said angrily when a guy with red hair knocked me into the wall as he hurried past. He stopped and looked.

“Oh fuck me, I’m so sorry, it’s just, I got a whole lot of girls on my tail and I wasn’t looking where I was going and I’m so sorry” He said. The nervous expression on his face told me he was genuinely in trouble. I did something than I never would have done to someone else, ever. I grabbed him by the shirt, shoved my black cap on his head and pulled him to me, kissing him quickly while a group of about 20 girls ran past, screaming. When they’d gone past I pushed him away and took my cap back.

“Whoa, oh my god, I can’t believe I just did that” I said

“Hey, thanks, you pretty much saved my life” He said, blushing. I shrugged, also blushing.

“I’m Alex” He said holding out his hand. I put my hand in his and shook it.

“Rhianna” I answered, shaking his hand gently.

“Do you wanna come have lunch with me?” He asked

“Sure” I said. After that we were pretty much inseparable.

I smiled at the thought and got out, dressing in a pair of baggy jeans and a comfortable sports jacket. I brushed my hair quickly and shoved my favourite cap on. The black one, AJ used when we first met. I put on my skate shoes and grabbed the Hotel swipe card from the table. I unplugged my cell from the charger and went in search of AJ. I found him with all the guys in Kev’s room.

Chapter 2

“Happy birthday Reese” Nick said jumping up and coming over to me, wrapping me in a big hug.

“Thanks Nicky!” I grinned. He pulled a small gift wrapped box from his pocket and grinned. AJ gave him a look.

“Chill, Bone, it’s not a friggen' ring” Nick said laughing. I carefully opened it and found a pair of gold stud earrings with a diamond in them.

“Oh geez, thanks Nicky, I love them” I said hugging him again. He beamed. Next Brian gave me a hug and handed me an envelope.

“It’s not as exquisite as Nicks, but I thought that you might like to find yourself something nice” He said as I pulled out $500.

“Aww, thanks Rok” I said also giving him another hug. Kev came over and wrapped me in a strong hug.

“My present comes later girl, but happy birthday” He said. I laughed.

“Thanks Kevvy” I said. Howie came over and smiled at me.

“I wasn’t sure what to get you, so I just decided on simple, but thoughtful” He said producing a small bags. I opened it and found a Teddy Bear. I cracked up laughing when I saw what it was wearing. It was a ‘Backstreet Fan #1’ t-shirt. It even had on a BSB beanie. I gave him a hug and took a seat next to AJ who put his arm around me.

“So, where’s your present?” I teased

“Hey, I gave you breakfast in bed!” He exclaimed

“Aww, it was sweet Alex” I said leaning up and kissing his cheek. He smiled proudly.

“Ok, back to business guys, don’t forget to be at the Stadium by 1:30 for rehearsal and sound check” Kev said. The guys all talked about tonight’s show until 7:30 and than we had to go.

Chapter 3

“Are you coming to the interview?” AJ asked as we walked hand in hand to the elevator where Nick was holding the door for us.

“Do you want me to go?” I asked

“Of course” he said

“Then, yeah I’ll go” I said. We stepped into the elevator, Kev behind us and went down to the foyer. Nick and Brian were being idiots, as per usual, and Nick ended up on his back, laughing himself silly. When the doors opened and we all stepped out, the fans out the front started screaming.

“Want me to wait behind?” I asked AJ. Al though he’d announced to his fans we were together when we first started dating last year about 3 months after we’d met, we still went separately.

“Nope, today I’m showing you off” He said. I smiled and walked with him out the door. Immediately the fans started grabbing and touching. We all smiled and I waited while AJ signed autographs.

“Rhianna!” I heard someone call. I looked around and saw a girl pushing her way to the front. She only looked 13.

“Rhianna” She said again. I smiled at her.

“Hi, how ya doin?” I asked

“I’m really great, can I have your autograph?!” She asked. I stood there shocked.

“That’s not how you sign an autograph, Reese” Nick teased propping himself on my shoulder. The girls near us laughed. I whacked him.

“I’m sorry, it’s a shock” I said and took the girls pen.

“What’s your name Hun?” I asked

“Kelly” She said. I wrote her name and a little message than signed my name on a picture of AJ, Nick and I a couple of months ago at a movie premier.

“Oh my god, I look feral” AJ said coming over to us and looking at the picture I’d just signed. The girls laughed.

“Can I have your autographs too?” Kelly asked Nick and AJ. They happily obliged and we moved on to some more people.

“Wow” I said

“Your first autograph, I think that deserves a kiss” AJ said as we climbed into the waiting fan. I smiled and he pecked my lips softly and than they all hung out the windows and yelled goodbye and waved. It was amazing to watch the guys with their fans.

“So where do you wanna go for lunch Reese?” Howie asked

“Umm, I dunno, I’d like a change from McDonalds” I said smiling

“I know this place! I took Mandy there once while we were here on a holiday, it’s this little Café thing on the boardwalk” Nick said

“Alright, we’ll go there” I said. He smiled. I looked at AJ and saw him with his sunglasses on, gazing out the window.

“Alex” I said. He turned his head after a minute.

“Sorry baby, I kinda still can’t get used to you calling me Alex all the time” He said with a bit of a grin.

“Well you introduced yourself as Alex” I said

“I know I like it when you call me Alex” He said. I smiled.

“You know guys, I think since Reese’s been on tour with us we’ve all been a lot happier” Kev said. I blushed a little.

“Who wouldn’t be happy when they’ve got this beautiful person around?” Bri asked with a grin. AJ reached over and punched his leg, playfully.

“Stop hittin' on my girl Rok” He said. I laughed.

“I just wanna tell you all how much you mean to me” I said looking at each of my friends, including AJ briefly. “You’re all incredible people and I’m so glad I’ve got the opportunity to get to know you all properly” They all beamed at me.

“Aww this emotions making me cry” Kev said, faking a sniffle and wiping away a pretend tear. We all laughed. We arrived at the place where they were being interviewed and there were only a few fans there, even so, the guy’s body guards hurried us past them, but they managed to sign some more autographs.

“Alright guys, this is just a basic question/answer interview. Rhianna, are you going up on stage with them?” Their publicist, Gary asked, turning to me and AJ. I looked at AJ and he smiled.

“Yeah she’s comin' up with us” He said. I smiled and hugged him. We went into a little room and sat down 2 couches. There was an armchair in front where I’m guessing the interviewer would sit. AJ, Brian and I were on one couch while Nick, Kev and Howie were on the other. An older lady came in and smiled at us all.

“My name’s Suzanne and before we get started, I’d just like to say, thanks on behalf of Smash Hits Magazine and if there are any questions you don’t want to answer, just say no comment” She said with a warm smile. The guys all said hello and introduced themselves, though I’m sure the lady already knew who they were.

Chapter 4

“Alright let’s get started, I’ll start with the most dreaded question first, who has a girlfriend? AJ, obviously you do, Rhianna is sitting beside you right now” She said

“Yeah, I’m happily accounted for” AJ said proudly and smiled at me.

“I’m still with Leighanne, she’s on set for a movie, so we haven’t spent much time together lately” Brian said

“Kristin and I are taking a break” Kev said simply

“Nick, Howie?” Suzanne asked

“I’m currently not seeing anyone” Said Howie, all eyes turned to Nick

“I’m newly single” He said with a smile “But I’m not looking for a relationship just yet”

“How long have you and Rhianna been together now, AJ?” She asked turning to AJ and I

“Well as it turns, today is our 1 year anniversary and Rhianna’s 20^th Birthday” AJ said taking his arm from around me and entwining our fingers together and resting our hands on his leg.

“Well congratulations, Rhianna, do you mind if I ask you some questions?” Suzanne asked

“No, go ahead” I said looking at AJ. The guys were all looking at me, with big smiles

“What’s it like being a Backstreet girlfriend?” She asked

“It’s not really any different from being a normal guys girlfriend, except that there are some fans that don’t like me because I’m with AJ, and whenever I’m with him or the guys, I’m constantly in the public eye, although over the past year and 3 months that I’ve known them all, I wouldn’t have it any other way” I said with a smile

“How do you guys feel about Rhianna’s presence on the tour?” She asked

“It’s awesome” AJ said with a grin. They all laughed.

“It is though, Rhianna’s an amazing girl, and we all love her to death” Kev said

“Yeah, it’s good to have someone different to talk to, being on the road constantly, you get a type of cabin fever, except you’re on a bus” Nick said

“How do you like the tour?” She asked looking at me

“It’s great, I love it, I’ve got to know all of them properly and I’ve got to experience some amazing places and things that I never would have done before I met them” I said squeezing AJ’s hand. He squeezed back.

“So, how have the fans reacted to the relatively new relationship AJ?” She asked

“It’s the usual you know? Some fans are angry and hurt that I have a girlfriend, some adore Rhianna, a fan by the name of Kelly even asked for Rhianna’s autograph today” AJ said and smiled. I grinned and blushed a little.

“Tell me, how has the tour been going?” She asked, after scribbling some things down on her notepad.

“It’s been excellent, so far we haven’t had any major incidents, so it’s been really great” Said Kev with enthusiasm

“I can’t wait until we fly out to Europe, it’ll be great to see our over-seas fans again” Howie said, nodding his head

“I can’t wait until we hit Paris” Said Nick

“Why’s that?” Suzanne asked

“Because I love Parisian people, they’re way cool” He said.

“Just one last few questions before we finish up. What does the future hold for you guys?” She asked

“It’s impossible to tell, but I hope it holds a lot of good times for us all, another few albums, maybe and definitely more tours” Said Bri

“Yeah, what he said” AJ said

“What about marriage? Do any of you plan to marry soon?” Suzanne looked straight at me when she said that. I just smiled and shrugged.

“When the time is right, I’m sure we’ll get married” AJ said, looking around at the guys, who nodded their agreement.

“Alright than, thanks very much for taking the time to do this, I hope the tour goes well, have fun” She said. Everyone said thanks, shook hands and we left the room.

Chapter 5

“So you wanna go shopping now babe?” AJ asked, wrapping his arm around my waist

“Hmm, ok, what are you fella’s gonna do?” I asked them

“Me and Nicky have a date with a basketball court” Said Bri. Nick nodded and flung his arm around his best friends shoulder. I looked at Kev and Howie.

“I’m gonna go check out some real-estate, I might buy a holiday house up here” Howie said

“Sounds good, mind if I join you bud?” Kev asked

“No, let’s go” he said

“So where’s this place Nick?” AJ asked. He told us and AJ wrote it down. We all got back in the Van and agreed to meet for lunch at about 11:45. AJ and I as well as AJ’s bodyguard got dropped off in a Nice street mall, type thing with a lot of expensive shops on either side and got out.

“Alex, we’re not exactly dressed for this place” I said as we started walking towards a nice looking clothes shop

“We can go to a proper mall if you want” He said as we looked around at the posh people looking at us

“Can we? I don’t like the look of this place” I said

“Neither do I” He said

“Well lets go” Said Danny, the big security guard. We hailed a taxi down the road and got him to take us to a Mall. We paid and got out and started inside.

“Baby” AJ said as we strolled along, hand in hand, with Danny beside us

“Yeah?” I asked

“You wanna get married one day?” He asked

“One day, yeah” I said

“To me?” He asked

“Alexander James McLean, are you proposing to me?” I asked playfully

“Well, no, not really, I just wanna know, so that I can buy you a really nice engagement ring when I do wanna ask you” He said

“I’d love to get married to you Alex, you’re everything to me” I said looking at him. He smiled at me.

“Wanna have some babies too?” He asked. I laughed.

“Of course” I said. He smiled.

“Next year ima propose to you” he said. I smiled and he kissed me on the nose. We went into a clothes shop and I let him drag me around the guys stuff before I dragged him through the girl stuff.

“Wow, I like this” He said holding up a black tank top with slashes through it.

“Baby, I don’t see the point of paying 50 bucks for something I can do at home” I said putting it back on the rack.

“If I bought it for you, would you wear it? He asked

“Yeah, I like that kinda stuff” I said. He took it back off the rack. I laughed and shook my head at him.

“Ooohh, this is nice” I said spotting a pair of black leather hipster flares.

“Get it” He said

“No, Alex, they’re too much” I said

“Baby girl, it’s not like I don’t have the money to spare” He said. Danny was chuckling behind us.

“You guys are acting like you’re already married” he said. I grinned and whacked him. He laughed harder. I let AJ hold onto the pants I’d found and continued to look through the stuff. I found a cute black midriff top that only went over one shoulder and smiled and handed it to AJ.

“I think that’ll do from here” I said. He nodded and we went over and paid. We walked to a sports shop and AJ bough a pair of sunglasses.

“Alex, why do you always wear sunglasses?” I asked him as we walked towards another shop

“It’s because my eyes show too much emotion, I don’t like to admit that I’m an emotional person, I’m the bad boy” He said

“But your eyes are so beautiful” I said. He smiled and kissed me.

“AJ, oh my god AJ McLean” Said a voice. AJ pulled away and I went pink. He made a face at me before he turned around. Danny was holding her shoulder.

“It’s ok Dan” He said smiling. Danny let the girl go and she basically fell into AJ’s arms.

“Hey, how are you?” He asked her

“Oh my god, I can’t believe it’s you, can you please sign this?” She asked digging around in a Sanity bag and pulling out the latest BSB CD and than digging around in her hand bag, pulling out a texta.

“Sure, thing, what’s your name?” He asked

“Louise” She said. AJ Nodded and wrote a message and signed his name, handing her back the CD.

“Where’s everyone else?” She asked

“Oh they’re doin other things, I’m spending the day with my girlfriend Rhianna” He said taking my hand again.

“Hi Rhianna” She said smiling at me. Her smile was big and wide, it was cute.

“Hey Louise” I said smiling back

“We’d better get going, so we can get this shopping done before lunch” Danny said politely

“Can I have a hug AJ?” the girl asked. AJ smiled and gave her a hug. She let go reluctantly and turned and ran back to her friends, basically screaming.

“Come on” AJ said and we started walking into the shoe shop. I found a pair of chunky black Goth boots and AJ bought them, for me. Then we found a hat store. AJ went crazy, trying on nearly every hat in the store. He settled on an old cabby’s hat and wore it out of the shop after he’d paid. We bought more stuff and than ended up in a jewellery store, looking at rings and necklaces. We didn’t buy anything from there. Next we went out and found a cab. AJ told him where we wanted to go and despite the heat from the heater which was blasting away. snuggled up to him.

Chapter 6

 When we reached the café, we saw everyone else was already there. We paid and got all our bags and went in.

“Jesus Christ, I’m not sure you bought enough” Said Kev. We grinned. Danny went and joined the other bodyguards at another table and AJ and I sat.

“So, did you buy something nice for the concert tonight?” Nick asked

“Well, I didn’t buy it specifically for the concert, but yeah I’ve got some stuff” I said

“I bought it for her” Said AJ with a grin.

“Well, we kinda figured” Said Brian, reaching over the table and poking him.

“So this is the last concert before our break?” I asked

“Yeah, home for 2 weeks, that’s gonna be awesome” Said Howie

“What are you doing baby?” AJ asked as we looked over the menus

“I was gonna go home and visit my family for Christmas and than meet up with you guys for New years in Paris” I said

“Sounds good” He said

“You wanna come home with me for a few days?” I asked

“Hmm, only if your Mom’s gonna cook for me again” He said. I laughed.

“I’m sure she will. What are you guys doin?” I asked the rest of them

“Home” They all chorused. I nodded. We ordered and mucked around while we ate. It was an absolutely amazing day. We went back to the hotel at about 12:30 and AJ followed me into our room, carrying all the bags.

“Did you wanna come to sound check?” He asked

“No, I think I might catch a few z’s before the concert, is that ok with you?” I asked

“Of course it is” He said hugging me to his body.

“I love you Alex” I said

“I love you too Rhianna” He whispered, kissing my forehead, than nose and then finally my lips. He slowly and gently laid me down on the bed and kissed me more. We’d never been together sexually and I started to get really nervous and tense up. AJ stopped.

“Shh, it’s ok, let me just kiss you, I won’t do anything else” He whispered.

“I’m sorry Alex” I said

“Baby I’ll wait forever if I have to” He said, kissing me softly. I melted into him and completely lost myself. Someone started banging on our door and AJ groaned.

“What?” He asked

“Yo dude, we gotta go to the stadium” Came Nick’s voice

“There in a minute” AJ said and looked at me.

“To be continued?” He asked. I laughed and kissed him again before pushing him off me.

“Go rehearse” I said. He stood up and grabbed his sports bag from the floor and went out the door, blowing me a kiss as he went out. I smiled and caught it. The door closed and I lay there, a grin spreading across my face. I kicked my shoes off and sprawled out on the bed, eventually drifting to sleep.

Chapter 7

I again woke up to the feel of kisses. I opened my eyes and saw AJ. He grinned.

“Hey there gorgeous” He said

“Hey” I said, propping myself up on my elbows and yawning.

“You’ve got half an hour to get ready fort eh concert” He said. I nodded and slowly got off the bed, stretching and yawning some more. I grabbed my new leather pants and the midriff top and went into the bathroom. I didn’t bother showering, instead I just quickly did my hair in a messy bun and changed, than applied a little bit of make up. I went back out into the room and saw AJ with his cell up to his ear, nodding and saying yeah. He hung up and grinned at me.

“Very sexy” he said. I smiled and sat down to put my new boots on. I found my ¾ length leather jacket and put it on. I held AJ’s hand as we went out the back exit to the Limo that would take us to the venue. The others were already in there. The drive was mostly quiet, with the guys psyching themselves up for the show. When we arrived the fans were out in force and we needed the bodyguards surrounding us to get through. I left the guys to get ready and went and found AJ’s mom who took me to the VIP section. It was actually only a little box thing up the front where I saw Leighanne, Brian’s girlfriend.

“Leigh” I said shocked.

“Reese” She squealed, hugging me.

“I didn’t think you were coming on the tour until after New Years” I said, after we’d pulled away from each other.

“I’m gonna surprise Bri” She smiled. I grinned.

“Happy Birthday” She said present me with a relatively flat wrapped object.

“Thanks!” I said

“Don’t open it now, wait til after the show” She said. I nodded and Denise offered to take it back to the dressing room.. A couple of the TV camera’s came over and started basically interviewing us. This had never happened at previous concerts and I wondered why tonight was so special. Leighanne did most of the talking. Some journalists took photo’s of us and some of the fans were talking to us. Leigh and I danced through the opening acts and talked through the intermission. I heard AJ’s voice over the speakers and than the lights went out.  Leigh and I watched intently as a new pyrotechnics show began and than suddenly the guys flew up out of the stage. The fans went crazy, taking picture after picture of them. I looked at AJ and his eyes searched the front area. His eyes landed on me and I waved. He grinned. Than Nick started singing. I wished I had my camera, luckily Leighanne had hers. This was going to be their best concert so far. The first song was That’s The Way I Like It and when AJ sang it was like he was singing it directly to me. After they’d gotten into it a bit with some up-tempo songs. Brian still hadn’t spotted Leigh yet. They started singing a slow song a’ Capella and it was than that he spotted her. He momentarily stopped singing, but recovered quick enough for no one to notice. He waved at Leigh and she waved back. After I’ll Never Break Your Heart the guys stopped and waited.

“We’ve got something really special planned tonight. It was AJ’s idea and we’re just testing it out tonight. AJ, it’s all yours man” Said Kev. AJ smiled.

“Tonight, is really special, we’ve got two very special people in the Audience, Rhianna Jones and Leighanne Wallace, Yo Danny, bring’em up” He said. I started shaking my head, but Leighanne was already climbing over the rail.

“C’mon, Reese” Nick said. I sighed and also climbed over, Danny helped us both on the stage and Brian ran over to Leigh. They hugged. AJ came over to me and took my hand.

“Today is Rhianna’s birthday and we’re gonna sing her and Leigh a little song” He said leading me over to a chair. A stage guy had another one out for Leigh and Brian sat her down. I looked at Leigh and she beamed at me.

Chapter 8

The guys all stood around us and the band started playing.

“I wrote this song about 3 months ago, no prize for the person who guesses who it’s about” AJ said smiling at me. I was blushing, I could feel the heat rise up my neck. Well I was either blushing or the heat from the lights was burning me. It was probably both. I noticed for the first time that AJ wasn’t wearing his sunglasses and I smiled.

“The way you look at me, makes me feel so good, I melt inside baby” He started singing, looking straight into my eyes. “There’s something to say about your love for me, you make me complete” Brian took over, singing to Leigh.

“It’s the way you look at me, that shows you love me and it’s your touch that I live for each and every day Honey” He sang. Now all the guys sang. Tears welled up in my eyes and I covered my mouth with my hand trying not to cry. Leigh reached over and took my hand, squeezing it gently.

“I love you so much and there is nothing that will take me away from you. I need you so much baby, I will never ever leave you” They all sang. AJ took my other hand and I lost it. I started bawling my eyes out. He kissed my hand gently in a break of the song and pulled me to my feet, wrapping his arms around me. I cried into his shoulder. He pushed me away to arms length and sang again, I saw tears in his own eyes. I mimed ‘I love you’ and he smiled as he sang. Nick sang now and I turned to watch as he sang to the audience. I felt AJ reach into his pocket and turned back to face him. He produced a hanky and I laughed and took it, wiping my face and eyes. I saw Leigh and Brian hugging near the chairs and looked back at AJ. He smiled and brought the microphone up to his mouth.

“I love you baby girl, I always will, you mean everything to me. I love you” He sang softly as the song ended. I started crying again and he hugged me.

“Happy Birthday Rhianna!” he said into his mic and than he kissed my cheek. Leigh took my hand and practically dragged me off the stage back to our seats. When we reached them I cried a fresh set of tears and Leigh hugged me. When I’d calmed down, the rest of the show was spent dancing and singing along. When they’d finished the concert they hung around on stage for a few minutes and Leigh and I made our way back stage. As soon as AJ appeared from the dressing room I ran and jumped on hi,

“I love you so, so, so much” I said hugging him tight. He hugged me back

“I love you too baby girl and I always will” He said. Bri and Leigh were kissing off to the side. Kev appeared out of the dressing room clutching a framed photo of something.

“I told you your present would come later” he said handing it to me. It was a photo of AJ singing to me that night.

“Kev…” I whispered. He smiled and hugged me. AJ wrapped his arms around me from behind and looked at the picture over my shoulder.

“Something to show the grandkids” He said. I smiled and nodded. We went back to the hotel and packed our stuff for the flight tomorrow. I crawled into the bed next to AJ and he immediately wrapped his arms around me. I slept very well that night, with AJ’s arms around me.

Chapter 9

We got up on time the next morning and got on the van that would take us to the airport. Another van had our luggage. We boarded the plane with everyone else and headed for Orlando. While AJ was asleep I was thinking of what to get him for his birthday. I had an idea so I went to Kev, who was reading a book.

“Kev” I said, sitting in the empty seat next to him

“Yeah?” He asked, closing his book and looking at me

“I wanna do something special for AJ’s birthday” I said

“What did you have in mind?” He asked, intrigued

“I wanna sing him a song” I said. From than until we were about to land, Kev and I discussed various things about what I would need, when I would do it, what song I’d sing and than agreed to meet up in a couple of days. I went and sat back down next to AJ who was now awake, but only just.

“Where’d you go?” He mumbled, resting his head on my shoulder

“Oh I went to talk to Kev, because you were sleeping” I said, resting my hand on his leg

“Hmmkay, are we landing yet?” he asked

“Just about” I said.

“Are we going back to your house?” He asked

“Uh huh, I rang Mom last night at the concert, she’s expecting us” I said. He nodded and yawned. The captain made his announcement about landing and we started to land. When we did we stood, gathered our stuff and shuffled off the plane and waited to get our luggage. We bid everyone good bye and set off for our respectable homes, except AJ who followed me to where my car was parked and we started our drive to Jacksonville. We arrived there early morning and went straight up to my room to sleep. When I woke, AJ wasn’t beside me and I got a little worried, than I heard Mom laugh and knew exactly where he was. I got out of bed and walked downstairs. AJ was in his boxer shorts still and Mom was serving him up some bacon and eggs. She was dressed.

“Morning Honey” Mom said setting another plate and serving me up.

“Morning Mom” I said

“Morning gorgeous” AJ said

“Gmorning Alex” I said with a smile. He smiled back and started pigging out on his food.

“What have you two got planned for today?” She asked, sitting herself down with a glass of juice.

“Sleep?” I asked yawning

“No way, come on we’ll sleep tonight” He said

“Well, what do you wanna do?” I asked

“We could get some movies” He said. I nodded.

“Well I’ve gotta go to work now, so I’ll see you too tonight?”” Mom asked standing up

“Of Course, cya later Mom” I said

“Bye Jenni, have a good day” AJ said. She waved and went out the back door.

“I never said thank you for the other night at the concert” I said. He smiled.

“Did you like it?” He asked

“I loved it” I said. He grinned and finished his breakfast. I finished mine not long after him and we went up to my room to get dressed. I wore a pair of flare jeans and a long sleeve top. Being in Florida meant that it wasn’t all that cold. AJ had on a pair of baggy jeans, a white tank top and a dark blue long sleeve one over the top which he didn’t do up.

“What kinda movies do we want?” I asked as we went down to my car.

“Whatever, I don’t care” He said. I nodded and drove into town. I parked and AJ wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked into the video shop. We spent an hour there, getting heaps of movies, than we went home and I made popcorn and got coke. We curled up on the couch with a blanket over us and watched movies the entire day and most of the night.

Chapter 10

We spent Christmas day at AJ’s house with his mom and grandparents and than went to visit all the guys and their families. We had a good day. New Years was spent on the Eiffel Tower in Paris and AJ gave me the first kiss of the New Year, than the second, third, fourth and fifth. Basically we kissed until we fell asleep. Over the next few weeks Kev gave me singing lessons and the guys, minus AJ, practiced with me a song, dance and basically how to act on a stage. We’d decided that I should do it on the Concert on the night of his birthday, it was going to be in Paris. The band and management knew what we were doing and agreed to help. A couple of Nights before the concert, Denise had asked him to go see a movie with her, which left me to do a dress rehearsal with the guys. I was gonna wear a pair of flare jeans and a little t-shirt and my chunky Goth boots. I had my stuff on and a Mic in my hands and I was waiting off to the side of the stage while Kev and Nick told the ‘crowd’ that there was a surprise and Jason, Nicks bodyguard pretended to be AJ. Brian sat him in a chair on the platform that faced the main stage and walked back over to Nick, Kev and Howie. They stood in various places on the stage, leaving a place in the middle for me. I walked behind a curtain and waited.

“Now, AJ, this is your birthday present from us, Come on out” Said Nick. The band started playing and the lights went out. I took 5 steps and stopped, counting to 4 in my head after I’d stopped. I could hear the music in my ear piece. When I reached for we all started singing “I wanna be with you, it’s crazy but it’s true and everything I do, oh oh oh I wanna be with you” In perfect harmony with each other. The lights came up, brightly and I took one more step forward and started singing. The guys doing the dance behind me.

“I’d like to know your policy, when it comes to me, I’d like to know what’s in your mind, it’s not easy to see, I know now what I feel and what to do, I wanna be with you” I sang and Brian came and stood beside me and we sang together.

“And I’ll be waiting until you face the truth, when the light is fading, ya know what I wanna do” When we sang ‘you know what I wanna do’ I swung my hips from side to side and lowered myself to the ground and pointed to Jason who was nodding. We all sang the chorus, doing the dance we’d made up with Fatima, their choreographer’s, help. Bri and I sung harmony in most parts and I did the rest, the other guys joining in on the chorus. When I’d finished everyone clapped me and I bowed.

“Do you think he’ll like it?” I asked the guys as we got ready to do one more practice

“Yeah, I think he’ll love it” Nick said. I smiled. When I got back to the hotel AJ was laying in bed watching the music channel on TV. I quickly changed and crawled into the bed beside him.

“Hey baby, you have a good time with Nick and Bri?” He asked. I told him that Nick and Bri and I were gonna have a Playstation night.

“Yeah it was good” I said curling up to him “How was your movie?”

“It was cool, they had subtitles for the French people, it was funny” He said. I smiled and gave him a kiss.

Chapter 11

On the night of the concert I was to perform in, I was positively shitting myself, I was so nervous I was nearly sick. We went to the Arena and I told him I’d rather stay backstage for tonight’s show. He nodded and kissed me goodbye before going into the dressing room. 20 minutes later the 5 guys were on stage performing.

“It’s just about time to go on, let’s get your make up done” Said Abby, AJ’s make-up girl. I nodded and sat in a chair. She covered me in a tonne of make-up and told me I looked beautiful. I got my mic and went and stood behind the curtains, peering out and seeing the guys dance around and sing. It was good. I saw Bri take AJ and sit him on the seat and heard Nick and Kev telling people what was going on.

“Now, AJ, dude, this is our birthday present to you. Come on out” Nick said. The lights went out and the crowd screamed. I took 5 steps out and stopped and counted to four. We all started singing and than stopped. The lights were still out. Just before we started singing again the lights came on and AJ nearly fell of his chair. I smiled at him as he stared. I started singing, the guys doing the dance behind me. Brian came up to me and we started singing. AJ’s eyes nearly fell out of his head when I swung my hips and lowered myself to the ground and pointed. His eyes never once left mine. I stepped back in the line with the guys and we danced as we sang. In the next verse I went up to AJ and danced in front of him. He was looking up at me with his mouth open. I went back to where Brian stood and we wrapped our arms around each other and sang. Again I swung my hips and went down, but this time Bri did it with me and the girls went off. When the song finished I stood in the middle of the guys and they stood around me, with the arms up. AJ stood up and ran over to me, picking me up and swinging me around.

“Ladies and gentleman, Rhianna Jones!” Howie said. I bowed and smiled.

“Happy birthday AJ” I said. He pushed his head set mic away from his face and pulled me closer to him, kissing me, right there in front of all their fans. I noticed that the cheering got louder, I couldn’t hear any boo’s. The others cheered and than suddenly AJ pulled away and looked at Nick. I noticed Nick nod.

“I was actually gonna do this tonight after the show, but hell, now’s as good a time than any” He said and got down on one knee. My mouth dropped. He pulled a box from his pocket and opened it holding it up. I gasped. He put the mic back in front of his face and cleared his throat.

“Rhianna, I love you baby, will you marry me?” He asked. The entire stadium went silent. Tears clouded my eyes and I cupped my hand over my mouth.

“Please say yes, or I’ll die” He said looking up at me.

“Alex…” I said. I realised the entire audience could hear me cos of the small microphone on my shirt. I turned to look at the guys,. Nick was smiling proudly while the others looked on in shock.

“Reese” He said

“Yes” I said softly. His face broke into a grin and tears spilled from his eyes, the guys all started yelling and whooping, especially Nick and stadium broke into applause and screams. AJ slipped the ring on my finger and stood up, wrapping his arms around me. I started crying. Camera’s flashed all over the place, but I didn’t do anything to get out of the picture. AJ kissed me again and than the guys were all hugging us. AJ escorted me off the stage and needless to say, the remainder of the show was more energetic than ever. When it was over we went back to the hotel

Chapter 12

“Alex” I said as we entered our room

“Yeah” He whispered

“Make love to me” I said shyly. He smiled and kissed me, undressing himself and me as we moved towards the bed. He laid me down, and kissed me more, touching and feeling. My hands roamed around his body and it felt right. He entered me gently, kissing me again. As he started moving in and out of me I closed my eyes and moved with him. It was slow, gentle and full of passion and love. We looked into each others eyes as we made love and we both cried. After we came I laid in his arms. We didn’t talk, we just lay together. It was perfect. He traced circles and patterns on my stomach and kissed my neck.

“I love you” I whispered

“I love you too” he said in my ear. I smiled and closed my eyes. The next morning I woke up in AJ’s arms still, only now I was facing him. I opened my eyes and looked into his brown ones. He smiled.

“Morning” He whispered

“Morning” I whispered back. There was a knock on the door.

“Who is it?” AJ called

“It’s us” Came Kev’s response

“Uhh, hold on” AJ called. I heard chuckling outside. We both stood and AJ looked over me, he smiled.

“You’re beautiful” He said. I blushed and found one of his shirts on the ground and a pair of my panties. I pulled them on and watched as AJ searched the floor. He picked up a pair of boxers and moved towards the door. I crawled back in bed and pulled the covers up. The guys filed in one by one and I noticed Nick was carrying a bottle of champagne. I sat up and smiled at them all. They grinned back. AJ came and sat beside me on the bed.

“Congratulations” Said Kev starting to clap. The others joined in and I smiled and turned to AJ who smiled back.

“Show me the ring girl” Said Leigh from her seat on the chair near to the bed. I held out my hand and she 'oohed 'and 'ahhed' over it.

“I got some bubbly after the show last night” Nick said holding up the bottle. Brian held up the glasses. I laughed and Nick popped the cork and poured it into the glasses. Kev stood.

“I’d like to make a toast to AJ and Reese. Guys, may you have a happy marriage and a long life together” He said

“To AJ and Reese” Everyone echoed and we sipped the champagne.

“Oh, you guys might find this interesting” Howie said tossing a magazine onto the bed. I reached over and grabbed it, unrolling it. On the cover there was a picture of AJ on one knee holding up the ring box with me gazing down at him, a big smile on my face. The headline was ‘The Backstreet Babe that tamed the Wildest Child of Pop’
