Chapter 1

Leigh, Kris, Jenn and I were sitting around a table at the bar in our hotel in LA and having a good old time. It was Jenn’s hens night and we were just having a few drinks to get started but soon we were gonna go back up to our rooms and get ready to hit the town big time. It was 1 week before Jenn and Howie’s wedding day and Howie had paid for us all to come up to LA for 2 days to relax. All the guys were here too but they were having the bucks night at Nick’s LA house but AJ and I had decided to get a hotel room together and spend tomorrow night by ourselves. Kris and Leigh stood up to go to the bar and Jenn and I grinned at them. When they were out of ear shot Jenn turned to me.

“You’ve got something on your mind” She said

“No I don’t” I said with a smile. I had a lot of things on my mind, but I didn’t want to ruin her night.

“Don’t lie Reese” She said

“It’s nothing Jenn, I swear” I said, trying to pass it off as nothing

“You may as well tell me” She said with a smile

“I think I’m pregnant again” I said with a sigh

“That’s great” She said leaning forward to hug me. I moved back and shook my head.

“It wouldn’t be Alex’s” I said softly

“Nick?” She squeaked and clamped her hand over her mouth. Her eyes were wide. I nodded.

“Hun, you need to do a test” She said leaning close to me

“I’m scared” I said with a shrug, looking down

“Of what?” She asked

“I’m scared that Alex will leave me if I am pregnant with Nick’s baby” I said

“Surely it could be AJ’s” She said. I shook my head.

“We haven’t made love yet since we got back together” I said

“Oh Reese” She said pulling me into a hug as a tear slipped down my cheek

“I’m sorry, this is your night” I said struggling to hold the rest back

“It’s ok. Tomorrow when we get up we’ll go get you tested and then we can sit down with the boys and tell them if you are” She said. I nodded and pulled away from her.

“Thank you” I said. She smiled and gave my shoulder a squeeze. Kris and Leigh came back and when they sat down, Kris looked at me a little.

“You’ve been crying” She said

“How could u tell?” I asked

“Your mascara’s run” She said with a smile

“What’s up sweetie?” Leigh asked

“I’m just so happy for Jenni” I lied, wiping my cheeks with a tissue. Jenn smiled at them and picked up her drink.

“Who’s got jukebox money? We should be dancing” I said after a long silence between us all. We piled coins on the table and talked about what songs we wanted and than I stood up and carried the coins over to the jukebox. I put all the coins in and got everyone’s songs they wanted and went back to the table. We danced and drank for about 2 hours before we made our way back up to our rooms to get dressed. Kris and Leigh went into their rooms but Jenn followed me into mine.

“Are you alright?” She asked

“Yeah, I’m ok” I said

“You sure? Wanna stay in and talk about it?” She asked

“No way. This is your night and I intend to get drunk with you” I said. She smiled and gave me a quick hug before leaving the room again. I started going through my clothes and jumped when the hotel phone started ringing.

“Hello?” I said picking it up

“Hey baby” Came AJ’s voice

“Hey” I said, smiling

“What are you girls doin?” He asked

“We’re just getting ready to go out, why?” I asked

“Because we were gonna go out too” He said

“I doubt we’ll run into each other. LA’s a big place” I said

“Yeah true. Well We’re all gonna stay here at Nicks ok?” He asked

“Uh huh” I answered

“But I’ll see you tomorrow night” He said

“You certainly will” I said smiling

“Love you” He said

“Love you too” I whispered and slowly hung up. I quickly dressed in my new pair of ‘Rock star’ Jeans and my Ramones shirt that I hadn’t worn in about 6 months. I pulled on my shoes and went into the hall where Kris and Leigh were whispering about the present we had for Jenn. She opened the door and came out in a pair of black slacks and a nice fitted top.

“We have something for you” Leigh spoke up

“Uh oh” Jenn said trying not to smile. I grinned at her. Kris handed her the bag. Jenn opened it and looked inside, cracking up laughing.

Chapter 2

We were in a night club somewhere in the city just mucking around. Jenn had on her veil and ‘old maid’ apron on that we’d given her. We were dancing to ‘You shook me All Night Long’ by AC/DC which the band was playing. I looked towards the bar to check out the line up and saw familiar hair. I slowly searched the crowded club and saw the other 4 guys plus Howie’s brother sitting around a table. I grabbed Jenn’s arm and pointed to where they were and than showed Leigh and Kris.

“Should we go or stay?” Kris asked

“Stay” Jenn and I said together. I’m sure we both had massive grins on our faces.

“Let’s go say hi” I said. I wanted to See AJ. I don’t know why, I just did. She took my hand and Leigh and Kris, followed, laughing as we went over towards them. I dropped down beside AJ who didn’t look all that happy and put my hand on his leg.

“Hey” I said into his ear

“Hey Rhia” He answered with a smile

“Come dance?” I asked

“I don’t dance” He said

“Neither do i. please?” I bsaid pouting at him. He shook his head and half smiled.

“Ask Nick. He wants to dance” He said

“I don’t wanna dance with Nick. I wanna dance with my husband” I said

“Later” He smiledI looked over to see Jenn and Howie in a passionate kiss and awed. I was a little drunk by now.

“Hey Reesey Ray” Nick said nudging me as he sat in the seat beside me

“Hey Nickers” I grinned

“what are you chica’s doin here?” He asked

“Livin life to the fullest” Leigh piped up

“Yeah, come dance” I said

“Aww, I dunno” He said lookin at AJ

“He wants me to dance with you” I said looking at AJ and then at Nick. AJ nodded.

“Ok, let’s go” Nick grinned standing up and holding out his hand. I took it and wen went out onto the dance floor.

“What’s wrong with him?” I asked leaning closer to him as we danced

“He’s worried. He knows exactly what we did because Howie told him. He knows every last fucking detail. I get the feeling that he resents me for it, when it was ultimately him who caused the problems by fucking around first” Nick said

“I need to talk to you. To both of you” I said

“What about?” He asked with a smile

“Just some stuff that’s come up. Tomorrow when we get up Jenn and I need to do some stuff but then I thought I might take you and Alex to lunch so we can talk” I said. He pulled me closer and we danced in a circle

“Sure, that’s ok. I’d better not drink any more than” he chuckled

“Oh drink as much as you want. I intend on staying drunk for this talk tomorrow” I said with a sigh

“It sounds serious” He said and I could tell he was struggling to keep his hands on my back.

“Yeah it is. But like I said Jenn and I have to do some stuff tomorrow so I should be calmed down enough to talk” I said Or even more nervous I thought to myself. The song ended and we walked hand in hand back to the table of people. Howie had on Jenn’s veil and he looked rather silly with it on. I took a picture with my cell and showed AJ he barely even smiled.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him.

“Nothin” He said

“You’re not yourself tonight. Tell me what’s wrong” I persisted, getting worried about him

“Nothin I swear” He said. He sounded like he was startin to get angry.

“Alex…” I said taking his hand

“Nothing is wrong” He snapped pulling his hand away from mine.

“Jesus Christ Rhianna you nag me so much, just leave me the hell alone” He said. I stared at him open mouthed for a full minute before I slammed my chair back , stood up and ran for the nearest exit. I burst through the door and into a brightly lit up alley way. The alcohol in my stomach didn’t agree with my running and I stumbled over to a garbage can and threw up. A second later The door opened and I heard someone step out.

“Jesus Reese are you ok?” I heard Nick ask and than I felt him behind me as he pulled my hair away from my face and rubbed my back. When I was done he lead me over to a bench seat and we sat down. He gave me his water and I rinsed my mouth out.

“What’s wrong with him?” I asked between gulps of water

“Who knows” Nick said with a shrug

“Do I nag?” I asked

“No way. There is no way in the world you nag” He said sliding his arm around my shoulder and letting me curl up against him. He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead and leaned his head against mine.

“I love you Reese” He whispered.

“I love you too Nicky, and under different circumstances I’d be with you” I said moving my head to look at him

“I know” He answered with a sigh.

Chapter 3

I woke up and rolled onto my back, to stretch. I hit something hard and sat up with a start.

“Reese? What the fuck?” I heard Jenn ask

“Jennisen? The hell are you doing in my bed?” I asked

“You’re in my bed actually and Nick and I both decided that you shuldn’t be on your own. After AJ’s little episode last night you got more tanked than me. When we came back here you were so sick that you threw up everywhere on the elevator. So we put you in here” She said

“Sorry” I said

“How do you feel?” She asked through a yawn

“Fine, just tired” I said

“Probably because you threw up for 3 hours” She laughed. I chuckled and slid out of her bed. We were both still in the clothes from the night before.

“How do YOU feel?” I asked her

“Yeah not bad, that;ll all change once we get downstairs though” She said with a chuckle. I smiled and sat on the seat in her room to put my shoes back on.

“We gonna go get your pregnancy test now?” She asked with a smile. I shrugged, Nerves flooding through my body.

“Let’s get it over and done with and than we can sit down and decide some stuff before you tell Alex and Nick” She said

“Alright. I’ll go and have a shower. Meet you down stairs in about half an hour?” I asked

“That’ll be cool” She said. I smiled and left, walking the short distance to my own room. I went in and saw Nick sprawled on the couch. I wondered what he was doing there and went into the bedroom to see AJ snoring softly. As quietly as I could I got my clothes together and went into the bathroom. I had a shower and dressed in a pair of jeans and a tank top. I quietly went back out into the bedroom and put my other clothes in the dirty pile and grabbed my shoes, before going out the door, I closed it quietly and then thought better of it, opened it again and than slammed it. Nick woke with a start and I went over to him, guiltily.

“Sorry Nick. Alex is in there” I said nodding to the bedroom.

“Oh” He said and lay back down.

“Go back to sleep” I said touching his cheek. He nodded and was soon snoring softly. I sat on the ground and pulled on my shoes and socks before grabbing my sunglasses, wallet, cell and hotel key card. I chucked them in my hand bag and went out the door, closing it gently and walking towards the elevator. As I waited I remembered what Jenn told me about throwing up and walked towards the stairs, going down them slowly. I went into the restaurant and saw Jenn sitting at a table drinking coffee. I saw another coffee sitting opposite her as well as 2 plates of food and wondered who she was sitting with. I went over and she grinned.

“I got you some food and coffee” She said

“Thanks” I said with a smile sitting down. We both started eating, with out talking. When we were finished we sat there for a while.

“I don’t wanna do this” I said

“I know sweetie but you have to” She said

“Alex is gonna hate me even more” I sighed.

“He doesn’t hate you. He said so himself. He’s just confused about some stuff” She said

“Well he’s gonna hate me if it turns out I am pregnant” I said

“No he won’t” She said

“Let’s just go and get this over with” I said standing up. We went out onto the street and walked towards the mall down the road.

“If I am pregnant I won’t tell either of them and get it aborted” I said suddenly

“If you are pregnant you’ll talk to the guys and ask them what they want to do and you’ll reach a conclusion mutually” She said. We went into the mall and headed towards the pharmacy, my nerves getting worse and worse with every step. When we got in we headed to wards the back corner where the pregnancy tests were usually kept and I grabbed one. We went to the counter and I tried to hide it but the girl serving me had other ideas and flashed it around like crazy. Once I’d paid and had it securely in a paper bag you can’t see through we walked back to the hotel in silence. My nerves kept getting worse and I thought I was going to throw up. I didn’t.

“Can we do it in your room? Nick and Alex Are in mine” I said

“Sure” She said. We went into her room and she let me go into the bathroom. I quickly read the instructions over and did what I had to do. I opened the door and she came in. As the seconds ticked away I felt myself become panicky and tried to calm myself time. When it was time to check the stick I took a breath and stepped forwards, picking it and the instructions up.

“What is it?” she asked insistently. A tear slipped down my cheek and I looked up at her.

“Positive” I whispered.

“Reese” She said pulling me into a hug. We stood in the bathroom while I cried and than we went and sat on her bed while I cried some more.

“Reese, you can’t have this baby aborted” She said softly

“I know” I said

“And you need to tell them both” She said. I nodded.

“Do you want me to come with you?” She asked

“No I need to do it on my own” I said. She nodded and gave me another hug. I stood up and went and washed my face in her bathroom before going back to my own room. I had the test and the results in my hand bag incase they didn’t believe me. I went in an saw Nick flicking through the channels on the tv.

“Hey” He said. His voice was croaky

“Hey” I replied. Putting my bag down. I grabbed the kettle off the side table and went into the bathroom, filling it with water. I took it back out and put it on to boil, getting 2 cups from the cupboard as well as the satchels of coffee and sugar. Nick was watching me curiously. I half smiled and went into my bedroom where AJ was laying on his stomach texting someone on his mobile.

“We need to talk” I said from the door

“Well let’s talk” He said rolling over and sitting up

“Out here with Nick too” I said and turned around.

Chapter 4

I busied myself making coffee for them and turned around when AJ came out. He sat next to Nick and I could hear them whispering.

“Here you’re gonna wanna be relatively sober Nicky” I said to him handing his coffee to him. He nodded and took a sip

“You’ll probably wanna be awake” I said to AJ and handed him his coffee.

“What’s up?” He asked

“Umm, well. It’s not easy for me to say. Alex you’ve noticed that I haven’t been real well lately haven’t you?” I asked

“Kinda” He answered

“I’m pregnant” I blurted. AJ’s eyes widened and he looked from me to Nick, who was grinning and leaning forwards.

“That’s really good Reese, you and AJ are gonna be great parents” He said. AJ knew that it wasn’t his.

“It’s not Alex’s Nicky” I whispered looking down.

“Well who’s is it?” He asked confused

“Think about it Nick, who else has she been with?” AJ said quietly

“You mean… It’s mine?” He squeaked. I nodded

“But I thought that.. We were careful weren’t we?” He asked. He was in shock. AJ was just sitting there, staring into his coffee.

“Alex” I started

“It’s ok Rhia, I understand” He said with a sigh

“What are you gonna do?” Nick blurted

“Abort it probably” I said with a shrug. A couple of tears escaped my eyes and I flicked them away

“No way. No, Rhianna. I’m not gonna let you do that” AJ said leaning forwards nad looking into my eyes

“Alex” I said again. This time Nick was being quiet.

“We never had a chance with Donna Bella and this could be your last chance to have a baby. Keep it, raise it” He said

“What about the media?” I asked

“You and me, we’ll get divorced, Nicky can marry you and you can be parents” He said

“What? No” I said the tears becoming heavier

“AJ, dude that’s deep” Nick said

“Let’s face it Rhia, I can’t make you happy anymore, both of us know that. God the whole world knows that. I understand baby” He said coming over to me and taking my hands.

“You do make me happy, you do” I protested through my tears

“Shh… it’s ok…” He whispered

“Alex, I love you” I sobbed

“I love you too Rhia but I have to do what’s right for all of us. God made this happen for a reason and I believe that reason is because you and Nick were meant to be together. I know what you did with Nick and I know the connection you guys have. Raise this baby together, because Rhia, as long as you’re happy, I’m happy. We can still be friends and I promise that I’ll be the best uncle ever to Nicky Jr here” He said rubbing my stomach gently. He kissed my forehead gently and stood up, turning to Nick. Nick also stood up, but couldn’t meet his eyes. He looked uncomfortable. AJ held out his hand and Nick looked at it and timidly put his hand in AJ’s.

“Congratulations buddy, I’m really happy for you” AJ said shaking Nicks hand. He sounded genuinely happy.

“Uhh thanks” Nick muttered. AJ turned to me and half smiled before going out the door.

Chapter 5

As I stared at the divorce papers in front of me I couldn’t bring myself to believe that AJ really wanted this. I had to admit though as Nick and I lay curled up in bed at night I hardly ever think of him anymore. I hadn’t seen or spoken to him for 2 months now and I wasn’t looking forward to the wedding rehersle tonight either.

“The longer you look at them, the harder it’ll be to sign” Nick said from behind me

“I know” I sighed

“Would it be so bad? You and me getting married?” He asked, sitting at the table across from me

“I don’t want to get married Nick. I want this relationship as low key as possible. I already feel like a slut” I said

“Hey, you’re not a slut” He said taking my hand

“I love him Nick” I said looking down at the papers again

“I know you do babe” He answered. I picked up the pen from beside the papers and looked up into his eyes before I started signing my name. Before I changed my mind I put them in the envelope and sealed it. Nick stood and came around to me, offering me his hand. I took it and pulled myself up, into his arms.

“You may never love me the way that I love you, but I’m serious about this baby and us” He whispered to me

“I know” I answered. He slid his hand around to my stomach and caressed it for a minute before kissing my forehead and stepping away. I let go of him reluctantly and smiled at him before I went up the stairs to get ready for the rehearsal. I stood partially naked in front of the full length mirror for a long time, studying my reflection and how big my bump has gotten. Which wasn’t very big, considering I was only 3 ½ months a long. I heard Nick before I saw him and I smiled at his reflection. He came over and wrapped his arms around me from behind.

“I can’t believe that we made that little baby in there” He said rubbing my stomach again

“I know” I answered, smiling wider

“Do you want a he or a she?” He asked

“It doesn’t matter as long as he or she is healthy” I replied

“True that” He said. I turned around and looked up at him. He cocked his head to the side and grinned down at me.

“Are you excited about being a daddy?” I asked him

“More than you know” He answered. I smile and leant up, pecking his lips gently

Chapter 6

It was the day of the wedding and Jenn was in panic mode. She was rushing around asking everyone if they were organised. I caught her by the arm as she rushed past me and pulled her to a stop.

“Jenn, you’re goin around asking everyone else if they’re organised and ready but are you?” I asked. She shook her head.

“We’ve got 20 minutes to go and you still don’t have your dress on” I said leading her over to where her beautiful, but simple wedding dress was hanging. I helped her into it and told her how pretty she looked and than got into my bridesmaids dress and told Jenn to relax while I got her sisters organised. Despite having a few dillemma’s with Maddey’s dress we got to the church on time and I walked in front of Jenn down the aisle with a smile on my face, but I knew all eyes were on Jenn. I didn’t mind. Drake looked gorgeous in his little suit. I saw Howie holding his little hand and turned to look back at Jenn. She smiled at me. I smiled back and kept walking. When we reached the altar I took her bouquet of white and red roses and watched Her and Howie grin at each other. I looked past him and saw AJ looking at me. He half smiled and gave a bit of a wave. I waved back and looked at Nick was was whispering something in AJ’s ear. I was so glad that the 2 had remained friends. As the ceremony started, Jenn gave me a nervous grin and I gave her arm a squeeze to reassure her. They said their vows, had a snog and signed the marriage certificates. We went to a nearby park to take wedding photo’s and as soon as we got out of the cars Nick came over and hugged me.

“You look so pretty in that dress” He murmured

“You don’t look too bad in that suit” I answered with a smile

“How’s my babies?” He asked resting his hand on my stomach

“We’re ok” I grinned as we started walking over towards Jenn, Howie and the others. Jenn gave me a big long hug and couldn’t wipe the grin off her face In one of the photos all the bridesmaids had to sit on either side of Jenn in a semicircle and look up at the camera man. I thought it’d make a nice photo. In another photo the guys and us all had our arms around each other and we had to run. Thankfully the girls were allowed to take their heels off. When the photo’s were taken we stood around and talked for a little while. Since there was still 2 hours before the reception started I wasn’t sure what to do.

“What are we doin now?” I asked Jenn

“We are all going to our hotel room to wait, and we’ve made plans for the minibar t be stocked up” Jenn answered. I hope you have orange juice of soft drink in there” I said holding my stomach protectively. Drake came over and started tugging on Howie’s suit pants.

“Dada” He was saying. Howie bent down and picked him up.

“Aww he called Howie dad” I said to Jenn.

“He has for a while now” Jenn said watching her new husband and her son with happiness all over her face. I looked over at Nick and saw him goofing off with Brian and AJ and smiled.

“How’s it all going?” Jenn asked, also looking over to them

“It’s ok I guess” I said with a sigh

“Hmm, now tell me the truth” She said

“I’m confused” I said

“Well that’s to be expected, hun, you just got married, now you’re getting a divorce and your pregnant” She said

“Well, when you put it like that…” I said with a little chuckle

“You love AJ right?” She asked

“Yeah” I said

“But you also love Nick?” She added. I nodded.

“We both know that even if I wanted him to, AJ wouldn’t take me back” I said with a sigh. Jenn agreed.

“Do you and Nick sleep in the same bed?” She asked

“Yeah” I replied

“Kiss?” She asked

“Yep” I said

“Do you make love?” She asked

“I won’t let him” I said

“Reese, that boy is doing everything he possibly can for you and his baby, but you’re not letting him” She said gently. I just looked down.

“He wants this to work, but it seems that you’re not making the effort” She said and squeezed my arm before walking over to her sister. Her words hit me like a tonne of bricks and I realised for the first time that Nick was being so patient and so loyal to me and that he was indeed trying to make this work for us and I wasn’t doing much except moping around. I went over and stood beside Brian as Nick and AJ played soccer with an empty bottle.

“How ya doin?” Bri asked, slipping his arm around my shoulder and kissing my forehead

“I’m ok, you?” I asked

“I’m good” He said

“It’s good that they’re still friends” I said nodding towards the 2 guys

“They’re both working hard to keep their friendship going” Bri said. AJ scored and let out a cheer, both Brian and I started clapping. They came over and AJ looked me over. His eyes settled on the bump and smiled.

“How’s bub?” He asked pulling me into a hug

“Bub is good” I answered, letting him go after a brief moment. He smiled.

“what abnout Mom and Dad?” He asked looking at Nick and than back at me. Nick grinned and wrapped his arms around me from behind.

“We’re good” Nick said

“Yeah we’re good” I repeated and turned my head, kissing Nick’s cheek.

Chapter 7

It was time for speeches and both Howie and Jenn stood.

“Before my beautiful wife says her thank you’s, I have something very important to tell you all” He said and smiled at Jenn who grinned back. I held Drake tightly in my arms and pointed to Jenn.

“Is that mommy?” I whispered to him. He nodded and clapped his hands.

“As you all know, Jenn has a son from a previous relationship, Drake. Becoming a husband is an amazing feeling, but combine that with the joy of becoming a father and you get the feeling that I’ve got right now. I’ve adopted Drake as my son” He said. The entire room went off and Drake looked around in shock.

“Go over to Mommy and daddy” I said putting him down. He ran over and Jenn picked him up and Howie hugged them both before taking Drake off her and looking at me. She nodded me over and I stood and went.

“This is my best friend in the entire world” She said pointing to me. I smiled and gave a little wave.

“Not even 8 months ago I found out that she haad gotten married. Before that we hadn’t talked to each other for 3 years. But I swear to god. If it wasn’t for this girl and her friends, Nick, AJ, Kev, Brian and my husband, Howie. I would never have found a man as wonderful as Howie. So my main thank you goes to Reese for giving me the opportunity to meet Howie” She said and hugged me, everyone clapped and when I pulled away we were both crying. Both of us laughed.

“I’m not letting you sit down because I’ll lose it and bawl my eyes out” She said. I laughed again and nodded. She held my hand tightly and turned back to the crowded room.

“I want to thank my parents and family for supporting me all these years, especially my sister, Maddey. Thank you so much” She said Maddey grinned up at her and blew a kiss. Jenn blew one back.

“I’d also like to thank The fella’s for accepting me into their lives as a friend and giving Howie and I the encouragement we needed to take that extra step and get married” She said. Nick and AJ both let out cheers. I laughed.

“Leighanne, Kristin, you guys have helped so much with the wedding plans and keeping my feet on the ground, same with you Reese, you 3 are the best” She said. We all grinned. Jenn gave my hand a squeeze.

“Too everyone here tonight, thank you so much for coming, we really appreciate it” She said, Everyone clapped.

“Now Reese has something to say” She said. I smiled and looked around at everyone.

“I’ve known Jenn for the better part of my life and I’m telling you right now it’s a shock to see her settle down with just one guy” I said. Jenn started laughing and grinned at me

“Nah I’m just joking. You 2 are suited to each other and I’m so glad that everything has worked out for you. Congratulations on your marriage and Howie, congratulations on the adoption of Drake. I’d like to propose a toast to these 2 newlyweds. May you have a long and happy marriage with a couple of beautiful kids. But more importantly, may you have a long and happy wedding night” I said with a grin. There were a few laughs.

“To Jennisen and Howard” I said. Everyone repeated it and took a sip before hugging Jenn and than Howie.

“If Jennisen and Howard would like to take the dance floor for the first dance as a married couple” Said Kev. We all went and stood on the edge of the dance floor while Howie and Jenn walked to the centre. Spanish eyes started playing and they started to dance. Half way through the song I felt someone walk up behind me and turned to see Nick.

“Wanna dance?” He whispered in my ear

“Sure” I answered. He took my hand and lead me onto the dance floor. Kev and Kris also came out, followed by AJ and Leighanne, Brian and Maddey and a few other people. As we started dancing Nick leaned in close to my ear and started singing. Tears sprang to my eyes and I struggled to hold them back as he continued singing. I glanced over at Howie and Jenn and saw she had tears streaming down her face and Howie was singing to her. When the song was over I smiled up at Nick and stood on my toes to kiss him gently. It was only a short kiss, but when I pulled away he grinned at me.

“Hey, Reese, come outside we need to talk” Jenn said with a grin

“Ok” I said letting her drag me away. When we were outside we both leaned against the railing and watched the people inside.

“Youm didn’t wanna talk did you?” I asked

“No, I just ahd to get out of there. All those people looking at me made me nervous” She said

“That’s why we eloped” I said. She laughed.

“What’s up?” She asked

“While you were doing your speech I kinda realised that I’m not even 21 and I’ve had  1 failed marriage and 2 pregnancies” I said

“3 failed engagements, 1 failed marriage and a son. And I’m not 21 yet either” She grinned.

“There you are, I was wondering where you’d gotten too” Howie said sticking his head out the door.

“I’m here babe” Jenn said and went over to him, smiling at me before going inside. I turned around and leaned on the railing, staring at the cars that were going past.

Chapter 8

It was 3 weeks after Jenn and Howie’s wedding and Nick and I sat in the doctors office. The day after the wedding we’d gone to the doctor to make sure that I was in fact pregnant, AJ had come too for what reason I don’t know he just wanted to be there. Now we were waiting for the doctor to come back and tell me what’s wrong and whether or not the baby was hurt. Nick gave my hand a squeeze and I took a nervous breath. The doctor came back in and smiled happily.

“Your baby is fine, Rhianna, you just have to take it easy, no unnecessary movements or trips, until the day your child is born you aren’t allowed to do anything strenuous” He was saying

“So for the next 8 month I’m supposed to lie around and do nothing?” I asked

“Pretty much. There is a risk that you will miscarry, you just have to take it easy” He said. I sighed and looked at Nick, he leaned over and kissed my forehead.

“It’s ok, we can do this” He whispered

“What about intercourse?” I asked shyly. Nick’s head snapped over

“One of the best stress relievers around, not too often however” The doctor answered, smiling gently. I nodded.

“I want you to come back in 3 weeks for an ultrasound” He said. Nick and I both nodded and than we made the appointment. The doctor told me basically all the stuff I’d heard before, keep up your vitamins, eat properly, take care of yourself. On the ride home Nicks cell started ringing and he passed it to me while he was driving.

“Hello” I answered it

“Hey Reese, how ya doin?” Kev asked

“I’m good Kev, how are you?” I replied

“I’m ok” He said with a sigh

“What’s up?” I asked

“is Nick there?” He asked

“he’s driving” I answered

“Ok, well, tell him that we’re all on our way to your place ok?” He asked

“Oh ok, sure” I said

“Thanks Reese” He said

“Any time” I answered

“Cya soon” He said and before I could reply, he’d hung up.

“Kev said to tell you that everyone’s on their way to your house” I said

“Oh, ok, wonder what’s goin on” He said as we turned onto his road

“Beats me” I shrugged. The rest of the drive was silent and when we got to his place he wouldn’t let me walk inside, he carried me and set me down on the reclinerand took my shoes off me.

“Reese” He whispered as he knelt beside the chair

“What?” I answered

“I love you” He said so softly I could barely hear it

“I love you too” I replied, brushing some hair from his forehead and grazing his cheek with my hand gently. He smiled and leaned forwards, brushing his lips against mine and standing up.

“Better get some food ready for them all, you know what they’re like” He laughed. I chuckled and nodded. I grabbed the remote and turned TV on, flicking through the channels until I found the Movie Channel. Shark Tale was just starting so I settled down to watch it. I looked up when I heard the door open, AJ was the first one through the door, followed by everyone else.

“Hey” He grinned. His jacket was zipped up and I’d never seen him with a jacket zipped up before.

“Hey, whatcha got?” I asked. He came over and started unzipping it. A little head popped out the top and I grinned. He unzipped the jacket all the way and cradled a small pup in his arms.

“This is my new puppy Nevada. I got him just a while ago” He said and placed the pup in my lap. Everyone else had gone into see Nick.

“he’s gorgeous” I said stroking him gently. AJ smiled.

“So what is everyone here for?” I asked him

“Management have demanded that we go back on tour” He sighed

“But they can’t, Howie and Jenn just got married and I need someone to help me, I’m not supposed to get out of bed for the rest of my pregnancy” I said. Just than I heard a shout come from the kitchen. I guessed it was Nick.

“Stay there hun, I’ll go get him” AJ said. I nodded and frowned. Jenn came racing in through the front door and stopped beside me

“how’d your appointment go?” She asked

“I’m at risk of miscarrying, can’t get out of bed for the next 7-8 months” I sighed

“Oh hun, that’s gotta suck” she said. Nick came out and half smiled at me and Jenn.

“I’m not leaving you” He said to me, petting the dog gently.

“You have to Nicky” I said, gazing up at him

“No, what if something happens and I’m not here?” He asked

“Ticketless travel, remember?” I asked. He half smiled and turned to Kev who looked angry himself.

“It’s not an overseas tour, we’ll still be in the states” He said

“But it’s not right, how can they do this to us?” Nick asked

“Nicky, shh, calm down” I was saying

“Nick, listen, I’ll live here with Reese and Drake and I’ll look after her” Jenn said

“Yeah?” Nick asked. He looked reluctant to agree

“Promise” She grinned. I held his hand and gave it a squeeze. This man was perfect.

“When do we have to go?” He asked in a low voice

“In 3 days” Howie piped up. He was holding Drake on his back.

“3 days, jesus” Nick said

“It’s all good Nicky” I said trying to get him to smile. He half smiled down at me

“make yourselves at home, I’ll go and get food and stuff” He said.

Chapter 9

I lay on the couch watching TV with Drake asleep on the beanbag in front of me. Jenn had gone to get some more food and stuff, but she’d left me with some supplies. A drink, chocolate, sandwich and the phone, which started ringing. I picked it up and answered it quickly.

“Hello” I said

“Hey Reese” Came Nicks voice

“Hey Nicky” I answered

“How are you?” He asked

“I’m good, how are you?” I asked

“I’m good now that I’ve gotten to hear your voice” He said. I smiled.

“I miss you” I said softly

“I miss you too babe” he answered

“How’s the tour goin?” I asked. It was now 3 months in, another 2 to go.

“It’s ok, we’re all starting to get tired, Howie’s been miserable for ages now and not even Kev is acting normal” He said

“What do you mean?” I asked, curious

“Well last night, AJ and I went to this small time bands gig after our show and we didn’t get home until 7am and Kev didn’t say a word” Nick answered

“Maybe he’s sick of you” I teased

“Maybe” He chuckled

“I have another appointment tomorrow” I said

“I know, it’s all going to be ok though, I promise” He said

“I wish you were here” I said

“I know baby I wish I was there too” He answered softly. I sighed.

“Are yuou travelling?” I asked

“We’re just about to leave” He said

“Where are you going next?” I asked

“New York” He said

“Oh ok” I answered

“We get 2 days off next week, I could fly home and spend the night with you” He said

“Only if you wanted, but there’s no point, really” I said, rolling over and staring up at the ceiling

“Of course there’s a point, to see the woman I love who just happens to be carrying my child” He said

“Will you really fly home?” I asked

“Yup and as soon as I’m inside we’re gonna lay in my bed and snuggle and talk” He said

“Will you make love to me?” I whispered. We hadn’t yet made love since AJ and I separated.

“Baby there is no other way I’d rather spend my time” He answered

“I can’t wait” I said, a smile spreading across my face

“Niether can I” Was his reply. He sounded even more excited now.

“Oh shit babe I gotta go we’re ready to leave I’ll call you again later” He said

“Ok” I answered

“I love you” He said

“I love you too, bye” I said

“Bye” He answered and I slowly hung up. I grinned and put the phone down on the table beside the couch and grinned even more when I heard jenn come home.

“Sup chicka?” She asked with a smile

“Nick just called” I said

“Ooohhh” She cooed

“He’s coming home for 2 days next week” I grinned

“Is Howie?” She asked

“I didn’t ask, no doubt he’ll call you later on though” I said

“What did you and Nicky talk about?” She asked

“I asked him to make love to me” I said

“This’ll be the first time since…” She trailed off. I nodded and she smiled.

“It’s gonna be great” I said

“We’ll have to get you all prettied up and looking like a radiant pregnant woman, not a scared one” She said

“Yeah” I said

“How’s Drake?” She asked

“He’s sleeping” I answered. She went over and kissed his head before going towards the kitchen

“I’ll just put this away and than I’ll come out and we can talk” She grinned

“Ok” I answered. It was about 20 minutes before she came back out and I shifted my legs for her. She sat down and looked over at me.

Chapter 10

Jenn, Drake and I sat in the doctors surgery, getting some funny looks. I guess it must’ve looked pretty strange for 2 females, 1 being pregnant and the other with a 2 year old son.

“Come in with me?” I whispered to her

“Ok” She answered. I smiled gratefully at her and she smiled back. When my name was called we both stood and she grabbed Drake’s hand as we went through. As I prepared myself for the ultrasound I wondered if he’d ask if I wanted to know the sex. I decided to say no. First he did all the basic stuff, like check my blood pressure etc etc but when he was doing the ultrasound both he and Jenn had looks of surprise on their faces.

“Rhianna, it would seem that there are 2 babies. You’re having twins” He said

“I’m what?” I blurted

“Reese you’re having twins this is amazing” Jenn whispered

“Twins?” I squeaked

“Wait until Nick finds out” The doctor said. All I could do was nod.

“Do you want to know the sexes?” He asked.

“No, I’d rather wait until Nick was here also to make that decision” I said

“Fair enough” He said. Later on that afternoon Jenn and I were laying in the sun while Drake played with AJ’s puppy whom we were dog sitting. The phone rang and I reached for it.

“Hello” I said cheerfully

“You sound cheerful today” Nick said. He however did not sound cheerful

“I am” I said

“That’s good” He said

“What’s wrong?” I asked

“Nothing” He said with a sigh

“I have some news” I said

“Oh yeah?” He asked

“Nicky we’re gonna have twins” I blurted. He was silent.

“Nick?” I asked

“Reese?” Came AJ’s voice

“AJ? Where’s Nick?” I asked

“Umm, he’s currently jumping up and down the hallway screaming, can’t you hear him? what did you say to him?” He asked

“No I can’t hear him and I told him that we were having twins” I said

“Aww twins, that’s great” He said, although he sounded saddened now

“If one of them is a girl I’d like to name her Donna Bella Scartlet. If it’s ok with you and Nick” I said

“Hun you can name her whatever you want, but you can name her Donna Bella Scarlet if you want to” He said. I smiled and heard him chuckle.

“Nicks seems to be really happy about all of this” He said to me. I could now hear him yelling osmerthing out. He sounded a fair way fro the phone though and I couldn’t quite understand him

“Yeah he is” I answered

“I’m so happy for the both of you” He said

“Are you happy?” I asked. Jenn promptly stood and walked over to Drake

“I am, I met this girl, her name is Emma, she’s sweet” He said

“That’s good AJ, I’m happy for you too” I said with a smile. I’d started calling him AJ, it was slightly less painful when we first split up.

“I’d like to introduce the pair of you some time” He said

“Yeah that’d be good” I said. I could hear Nick clear now and started laughiung. He was singing at the top of his voice ‘I am going to be a daddy to twins’ AJ laughed too.

“Nick, you left your girlfriend behind” He said

“Oh shit, Reese” He said and I heard shuffling.

“Reese I’m so sorry” He said

“It’s ok baby, you sound much happier now” I said

“I am, we’re having twins” He said, sounding amazed

“I know, it’s awesome huh” I said

“It’s so good, I can’t wait until Monday” He said

“I know, only 1 more day to wait” I said

“Uh huh, it’ll be good to have you in my arms again” He said. I smiled.

“Jenn is going to take me to a little shop she’s found for maternity clothes and I’m gonna pick out an outfit just for Monday night” I said

“Should you go out? Will it be too stressfull for you?” He asked

“It’ll be fine, I need a change of scenery and I’ll take it easy, promise” I said. We talked for another half hour before he had to go to the arena for their show.

Chapter 11

I walked slowly around Nicks bedroom, making sure everything was ok. I had on some music and Jenn had helped me get some food and drink up here up here. I had candles lit and the bed was turned down. I looked at myself in the mirror one more time and sighed as I readjusted my top to cover my ever growing belly. I heard car doors slam and than I heard the front foor bang open and someone running up the stairs. I also heard Jenn and Howie laughing their asses off. I turned around to face the door just as Nick appeared in the door way.

“Rhianna” He breathed as he took a step in the door, closing it behind him and turning the lock. He dropped his bag and walked over, pulling me into a gentle hug.

“Oh god Nicky I’ve missed you so much” I whispered

“I’ve missed you too baby” He answered, holding me close against him.

“Are you hungry?” I asked

“Not really” He said, brushing his lips against my forehead. I closed my eyes and tilted my face up to wards him. It wasn’t long before I felt his lips on mine.

“God I wish you could come on tour with us I hate not being with you” He said to me

“I’d love to tour Nicky but I don’t want them to know” I said softly

“I know” He sighed and kissed me gently again.

“You look really pretty” He murmured against my lips. I started pushing him back towards the bed and held on to the bottom of his shirt. In no time at all we were lying on his bed minus our clothes. Nick was on his side beside me with one hand resting on my stomach as he kissed me.

“Nicky” I breathed as he trailed kisses down my neck. He slowly climbed on top of me, careful not to put too much pressure on my stomach and guided himself in. It had been so long since I felt it that I was momentarily stunned by the pleasure. I looked up into his eyes and saw them sparkle. Our love making was slow and passionate and it had meaning. But at the same time it was like he was trying to prove something to me. We came together and than lay in each others ams.

“The fans have been asking about you” Nick said softly

“What have you been telling them?” I asked

“We’ve been saying that you and AJ have separated and that you’re staying at my house for a while. But Reese they’re gonna realise sooner or later” He said

“I know, Nicky, I know, but I just don’t want to do anything about it I mean, He’s my husband and now I’m pregnant with his best friends babies, how’s that gonna look to the fans?” I asked

“Marry me Reese I’ll look after you and our children” He said

“I can’t” I said turning my face away from him. His grip on me loosened until he let go and I watched him grab his jeans and go into the bathroom. I sighed and rolled onto my side, facing away from the bathroom door which he’d closed softly. I felt a couple of tears trickle down my cheeks but made no move to wipe them away. I didn’t hear him come out, nor did I hear him walking over. I did feel him crawl onto the bed behind me and kiss my neck and shoulder.

“I’m sorry I won’t force it” He whispered

“I can be with you Nick but I can’t marry you” I said turning to face him. He wiped away the tear streaks and pulled me closer to him.

“Do you remember on the boat?” He asked me softly

“How could I forget?” I answered with a grin. He chuckled and kissed my forehead

“It seems like an age ago” He said with a sigh

“Yeah” I replied

“Can I take a picture of you?” He asked me out of the blue

“What? Why?” I asked

“Well, I need something to help me get off on the bus” He shrugged and grinned. I started laughing as he got out his cell phone which had a camera.

“No, not unless I have something over me” I said

“Aww come on” He teased. I laughed and shook my head, covering myself as best I could

“Ok, just your beautiful face than” He said

“Promise?” I asked. He nodded and held up his cell again. I smiled shyly and he took the photo and showed me.

“:It’s a beautiful pic” He said

“My hair’s a mess” I whined

“That’s cos we just made love” He said and put his cell away. I laughed and wrapped my arms around him.

“I love you Nick” I said

“And I love you too Rhianna” He said.

Chapter 12

Nick and I were laying in bed snuggled up to each other when he suddenly sat up.

“What?” I asked him

“Let’s go baby shopping” He grinned

“I can’t” I said

“We’re not leaving the house, we don’t even have to get dressed” He said standing up and going over to his chest of draws. He came back carrying a laptop and I grinned. He sat down and turned it on, connecting to the internet wirelessly. He leaned back against the headboard and motioned for me to sit between his legs. I leaned back against him and he pulled the blankets up over us both and set the laptop on my legs.

“What do we need?” He asked

“Cribs, change table, stroller, lamp, bedside table” I started rattling off

“Ok, ok, let’s just search for baby furniture” He said. I laughed and watched him type it into the search bar. We looked at stuff for ages, spending about $5000 on stuff including toys. After that we had a relaxing bath together and made love again, this time I fell asleep in his arms. When I woke up in the morning he was also awake and was watching me.

“Hey” I whispered

“Hey yourself” He answered

“I don’t want you to go” I said moving closer to him

“I don’t wanna go” He said back

“Stay” I said

“I wish I could” He said

“What’s stopping you?” I asked

“Can you imagine what Kev would do if I refused to go back on tour?” He asked with a chuckle. I laughed and nodded.

“Yeah you’d better go back, so our babies can grow up with a daddy” I said

“My parents and brother and sisters still don’t know” He chuckled

“Are you gonna tell them?” I asked

“Maybe one day. When they’re born, I’ll ring Aaron up and say ‘Hey little bro you’re an uncle, put dad on’ and than when dad gets on the phone I’ll say ‘congratulations pop you have 2 gorgeous grandchildren’” He said. I smiled and thought of my own mother who I hadn’t contacted for ages. I decided I should probably call her one day.

“Nicky, have you met AJ’s new girlfriend?” I asked

“Yeah, she’s really nice” He said

“Does she love him?” I asked

“I think she does Reese” He said

“I’m happy for him” I said with a smile. He smiled too and kissed my forehead.

“He’s happy for you too” Nick said. I smiled again and slowly got out of bed, walking towards the bathroom.

“Do you get morning sickness?” He called out to me

“Nope” I answered

“Cool” He said. I dressed in my pyjama’s and waited for Nick to get dressed as well.

“I need coffee” I said to him as I slowly walked down stairs

“Mmm” Was his reply. When we went into the kitchen Jenn and Howie were engaged in a passionate liplock. Instead of disturbing them we quickly retreated to the living room and cuddled up for a little while. Soon after we had breakfast wit Jenn and Howie and than He and Nick had to go back to the airport to catch their flight. I wanted to come and see them off but Nick wouldn’t let me, instead saying goodbye to me at home. Both of us cried as he left. When Jenn got home from dropping them off we both sat and started talking about what was going on and what happened with the guys. I showed her the furniture Nick and I had bought and than we walked through all of the rooms trying to decide which one would be best for a nursery. We decided the one across from Mine and Nick’s room would be good and than we looked up colours and stuff on the internet. I liked the look of the light green, but I decided to ask Nick and I did when he rang. He told me that I could have it whatever colour I wanted and than told me he’d left his credit card for me.. I went to bed early and thought of Nick as I always did before I slept.

Chapter 13

Jenn and I were up in the nursery which had been painted professionally the month before. The colours I’d chosen (with Jenn’s help and Nick’s slight input) were Frosted Mint Green on the walls with blue pink and yellow cloud/sunshine patterns and a cream roof. The furniture was all mahogany and we were now setting up the first cot. Jenn was looking at the instructions with a confused look on her face. We had my Live CD playing on the small, but very expensive and state of the art CD Player Nick had bought for the twins’ room.

“Show me” I said. She handed me the instructions and I looked at them and than at the pieces on the floor. I looked up at her and shrugged. We both started laughing. She came and sat next to me on the toy box and we looked at them together. We were half way through the second one when someone cleared the voice from the door. Both of us looked up. I saw Nick and nearly fell backwards, instead I struggled too my feet and walked as quick as I possibly could with my humongous belly into his arms.

“Nicky” I breathed

“What are you doing home so early?” Jenn asked him with a half smile

“Toniughts show’s been cancelled because the plumbing was out and there was water every where or something” He said  as I struggled to hug him.

“You look so beautiful” He whispered in my ear. I smiled and tried to get closer, my belly prevented it and I pouted. Nick laughed and turned me around so my back was to him and than he wrapped his arms around me.

“That better?” He asked

“Much” I said

“What are you doing outta bed?” He asked

“Jenn couldn’t put the cots up” I said

“Well you should at least be sitting down” He said

“I was until I saw you” I said. He laughed and guided me into the room, sitting me down on the toy box and looking around.

“Do you like it?” I asked

“It looks awesome” He said with a grin

“And how we have the furniture set up?” I asked

“It’s perfect” He grinned. I smiled and Jenn winked at me.

“Told you he’d like it” She said

“Yeah, yeah” I said. Both he and Jenn laughed.

“Can you take a break for a while? Howie should be here with some food and I think AJ wants you to meet Emma and Bri and Leigh have some things for you” Nick said

“Oh yeah” I said, suddenly nervous about meeting Emma.

“And I have some stuff to show you” He said. I nodded and again struggled to get up. Nick took one arm and helped me up.

“How do you feel?” He asked

“Pregnant” I answered. He chuckled and held my hand as we walked slowly downstairs. I nearly had to go down sideways so I could see where I was going. When we finally reached the living room I sat down gratefully and sighed.

“I’m never putting on weight” I groaned

“It’s crappy huh” Jenn said as she carried Drake into the room on her back. He came over and gave Nick a hug and than settled himself on the beanbag, waiting for his Daddy to come home.

“I’ll be back” Nick said to us and disappeared down the hall. He came back carrying a suitcase and carry on bag I’d never seen before.

“Whose are they?” I asked curiously. He just grinned at me. Everyone arrived within minutes of each other, each carrying a bag of stuff. AJ and Emma arrived last. She was pretty, maybe my age and she smiled warmly at me when AJ lead her in. I slowly stood up and AJ came over, her trailing shyly.

“Hey hun” He said wrapping his arms around me

“Hey AJ” I greeted, hugging him back and letting him go.

“Em this is Reese, Reese this is Emma” AJ said

“It’s nice to meet you finally I’ve heard so much about you” I said shaking her hand

“And I’ve heard so much about you. All these guys really love you” She said with a grin

“She’s our Reese” Bri piped up. I smiled at her and pointed to Brian.

“Shh” I said and turned back to Emma

“Would you like a drink or anything?” I asked her

“No, you sit” Nick instructed

“I’ve been sitting for the past 8 months” I whined

“Reese has been on bed rest since they got it confirmed” AJ explained to Emma

“I guess the miscarriage really screwed with my system” I said

“AJ has told me all about yourself and him and I am so sorry about what happened” She said

“Oh it’s fine, we’re still great friends I’m just glad he’s found someone like you” I said with a smile. She grinned at AJ who gave her a peck on the lips

“Umm, find a seat” I said looking around and seeing basically all the seats taken up by everyone else. AJ lifted Drake off the beanbag, much to his disgust and nodded for Emma to sit down while he sat on the floor with the child in his lap. Jenn and Howie were sharing the recliner and I looked over at her. She had a knowing smile on her face.

“Alright, what’s goin on?” I asked her

“I don’t know” She said. She’d always been a terrible liar

“Liar” I said. She just laughed and shrugged. I checked behind me before sitting down. Leigh and Kris came into the room carrying food and Kev followed with a tray of drinks.

“Hey everyone” Nick said standing up. Everyone quietened down and looked up at him.

“Kris informed me last week that Reese hadn’t had a baby shower. At firsdt I didn’t know what she meant, but now I know. It’s where a bunch of chicks get together and give a pregnant woman presents and stuff for the baby, they eat a lot of food and drink a lot of herbal tea. Well I know that since Reese has been around us for a grand total of 4 years now she’s lost a whole heap of friends, so Reese, baby we’re not all females but AJ sure as hell can act like one, so here’s your baby shower” He said

Chapter 14

Nick and I were putting away things that I got at the baby shower yesterday and I dropped a little pair of shoes. I slowly lowered myself down and had just about reached it when my waters broke. I froze.

“Nick” I said staying extremely calm

“yeha?” He asked, not turning around

“I need a shower” I said

“Why?” He asked, finally turning around and looking at me curiously

“My waters just broke and I can feel a contraction coming” I said. He sprang into action, guiding me carefully but quickly into the bathroom in his room. He helped me undress and than turned the shower on, adjusting it to a decent temperature and than helping me step in. The first contraction hit and I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists, leaning against the wall. Nick quicly ran and grabbed something from the other room and came back in holding his cell to his ear.

“Brian, jesus Christ I don’t know what to do” He said looking at me. The contraction passed and I breathed like Leigh had been teaching me and relaxed, glancing at the watch on Nicsk arm to time the gap between them.

“No her waters broke, she’s in the shower, she looks like she’s in so much pain” Nick was saying. I let the hot water run over my back and continued breathing, trying to ease the tenseness I felt all over. He continued talking to Brian, occasionally giving my arm a squeeze. I looked at his watch and saw it’d been 15 minutes. I felt another contraction coming and breathed slowly until it hit and I again gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. It passed and I went back to breathing. I felt Nick start to rub my back and was relieved to feel some of the pain easing. I looked at his watch a while later when I felt another contraction it was 12 minutes this time. Not too bad, we have to wait just a little longer I thought and prepared myself for the agonizing pain about to erupt inside of me. I had the urge to push but I fought it, knowing it wasn’t the right time. I let out a cry as tears starting trickling down my face.

“Hey baby, it’s ok, you’re ok we’re gonna be fine” Nick said, I’m sure he was reassuring himself more than me but I was grateful for it anyway. It passed and I looked at his watch again. After another 10 minutes I had another contraction and Nick allowed me to squeeze his hand. I felt vomit rising to my mouth and gagged just before vomiting. It kept coming, even as another contraction hit I vomited.

“Oh god Bri” Nick was saying. He was looking down. Despite my pain and throwing up I looked down and saw the blood rushing down my legs. I felt myself falling and heard the phone clatter to the ground before I blacked out.

Chapter 15

When I came to I looked around in confusion and fear. I felt different, but I didn’t know what was different about me. I saw movement beside me and sat up slowly, wincing in pain. I turned to look at where the movement came from and saw 2 hospital cribs and 2 gorgeous babies inside them. Tears clouded my eyes as I watched them sleeping.

“You gave us quite a scare” Came Jenn’s voice from the door. I looked over and saw her walk in.

“What happened?” I croaked

“You went into labour 7 hours ago and passed out when you started to bleed. You lost a lot of blood” She said

“Where’s Nick?” I asked

“He’s asleep. He s the only one out of us all who had the same blood type as you so they took a lot from him. He was awake and with you the whole time, but as soon as they’d stitched you back up he’d gone to sleep in a chair” She said

“Did he name them?” I asked

“This one right here. Her name is Donna Bella Scarlet. He didn’t name the little boy” She said stroking the baby girl’s cheek softly. I was overwhelmed with fatigue suddenly and went back to sleep. The next time I woke up however I woke to soft voices and gentle whimpering. I opened my eyes and saw Nick holding Donna Bella in his arms with a bottle in his hand. She was whimpering softly but he was singing to her and I could see her calming down by the second.

“Nicky” I said. He looked over and his eyes lit up. He came over as I sat up.

“Hey gorgeous, you wanna hold your baby girl?” He asked. I nodded, as tears came to my eyes. He carefully placed the now calm baby in my arms and I felt a tear trickle down my cheek.

“Hey Donna Bella, I’m your mommy” I whispered, cradling her against me. She let out a little sigh and I chuckled.

“We haven’t named this little fighter” Nick said leaning over the baby boy’s crib

“Logan” I said

“Logan is nice” He said, holding the small baby’s hand gently

“Logan Nickolas” I said

“Oh baby I love it” He said looking at me. I smiled and wiped away some of my tears with my free hand. He carefully lifted Donna Bella from my arms and put her back in her crib and than sat on bed beside me pulling me against him.

“Nicky we did it” I sobbed

“We did and we were blessed with 2 gorgeous babies” He replied, kissing my forehead

“I want to be a family” I said looking him in the eye

“We are” He smiled

“A real family I want our kids to have your last name and I want to have your last name too. Nicky I wanna be your wife I wanna be with you forever” I said.

“You wanna get married?” He asked. I nodded.

“Oh hell yes, let’s do that, let’s get married” He said as tears spilled over his cheeks

“I’m so happy” I said

“Me too, you’re amazing Reese. God I love you so much” He said

“I love you too, so much” I answered

Chapter 16

“I do” I said looking up into Nicks eyes through my veil. Both of us were crying. AJ stood proudly beside Nick, a massive grin on his face. Jennisen stood beside me and Nicks Dad, Bob, was rocking the stroller holding our 4 month old twin son and daughter, Logan Nickolas and Donna Bella Scarlet Carter. The priest was going through it all again for Nick and he croaked a little as he said ‘I do’. After god only knows what else he was on about he finally said those words Nick and I had been longing to hear since first becoming engaged.

“I now pronounce you Husband and Wife. Nick, you may kiss your bride” He said. Nick took a breath and lifted my veil, looking at me for a little while before pressing his lips against mine. The crowded church erupted into cheers and Nick I both broke the kiss laughing. AJ basically crash tackled us both, followed by the other 3 guys, plus Jenn, Leigh, Emma and Kris. Eventually they let us walk up the aisle and we were bombarded with rice and confetti. We stood out side answering a tonne of questions from reporters, some were really rude but nothing could take Nick and I off our high. Some couldn’t believe I had AJ’s new girlfriend as one of my bridesmaids. I just laughed and gave her a hug. We’d gotten really close. Later as Nick and I danced our very first dance as a married couple to Unchained Melody I watched Emma and AJ. I knew AJ was going to ask her, I just didn’t know when. After the dance we sat down at our table and Kev stood up and cleared his throat. Everyone else took their seats and Kev held up a paper.

“I have here the very first news paper article in which Nick and Reese are labelled Husband and Wife. I’d like to read out the headline” He said. Nick and I looked at each other. It must’ve been the evening paper or something. I caught site of the Headline and started laughing, Nick looked and started laughing too.

“Seperation Finalized As Carter and McLean Marry” Kev said.
