Nick, AJ and I sat in a row, listening to the satellite delayed feed from an MTV show in America. I had on my sunglasses, as did Nick and AJ and it was a little windy. It was 7am and we were on the Manly Beach.

“We’re talking to Nick Carter, and AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys and Jaime Cobain from Dysfunct, guys thanks for talking to us this early in the morning there” Kelly Macklyn, the host of the show, said.

“Hey” I said

“Howdy” AJ said

“Sup?” Nick said

“So I’d like to start with Jaime, if that’s ok” She said

“Sure, go for it” I said looking at the 2 guys sitting on either side of me

“So I’m not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but Jaime, your last name is Cobain. Are you related to Kurt Cobain in anyway?” She asked

“Yes, I am, he was my cousin” I said with a nod. I heard a few screams from the crowd surrounding us and smiled.

“Wow, did you meet him ever?” She asked

“Yeah a couple of times, I can’t really remember much because I was so young. But I remember it was a month or so before he died, he flew out here to see my Mum, they were like best friends Mum and Kurt and anyway, he comes out onto the backyard where I’m mucking around with a ukulele and I remember him saying ‘Hey Jai, what you doing? And I said something stupid and child like and he’s just laughed and taken me inside and there was his acoustic guitar. I didn’t understand it at first but as I got older I realised that he was saying goodbye to me” I said

“Do you still have it the guitar?” She asked

“Hell yes, I take it with me everywhere” I said

“The other day when we first arrived in Australia we couldn’t leave the Airport until she had that guitar in her hand” Nick said. I started laughing as I remembered.

“Yeah, it’s like that guitar is her security blanket or something” Piped up AJ. I laughed harder.

“And are you a Nirvana fan?” Kelly asked

“Oh hell yes. Most of the songs Dysfunct sing are covers of Nirvana songs” I said

“Nick, AJ how do you think your fans have reacted to having a real instrument playing band that does Nirvana covers as your opening act?” She asked

“You know what? The fans really like it, they comment to us on how well the girls perform and the crowd involvement is good too” AJ said

“Yeah, I’m not sure about the fans actually but I sure as hell like it” Nick said with a grin.

“Yeah me too, Nicky and me, closet rockers” AJ said with a grin as well

“What’s it like touring with the backstreet Boys Jaime?” She asked

“It’s alright I guess, nothing to get worked up about” I said with a shrug

“Oh come on those 5 men were voted the most eligible bachelors for 05” She said incredulously

“I don’t know how” I said laughing

“Hey” Both Nick and AJ said. I laughed again

“Can you honestly tell us that you’re not attracted to at least 1 Backstreet Boy” Kelly said

“Well, I have to admit that 2 particular Backstreeter’s have caught my eye” I said with a smile

“Flirting?” Kelly asked

“Mild flirting with both yes” I answered. I was still drunk from the night before so I didn’t get embarrassed at all

“Not with the two that are married I hope” She said

“No way, god no. I love Kev and Rok dearly but come on they’re not exactly boyfriend material… used goods” I said. Nick and AJ cracked up laughing and I grinned.

“So who are they than? Do they have girlfriends?” Kelly asked. It was like we were having a girl to girl chat on the phone, not on a TV show that MILLIONS of teenyboppers were watching.

“God, I don’t know. Hold up, Nick, you got a girl?” I asked

“Naaw” He said

“Jay, you got a girl?” I asked turning my head

“Nope” Was his reply.

“They don’t have girlfriends” I said looking back at the camera

“So the mild flirting is with Nick and AJ?” She asked

“Yeah well what can I say? These two are hot” I said with a shrug. Nick and AJ slapped hands in front of me and we all cracked up laughing.

“So do you have a boyfriend?” Kelly asked me

“Nah, not since I moved to America 2 years ago” I said

“Why not? I thought all Australian girls loved American guys” She said

“I’m just not interested” I said with a shrug

“You can’t be serious” She said

“I am” I said

“Gosh” She said “Would you be interested if it was Nick or AJ?”

“Probably not, I’m happy just to flirt” I said. She finished talking to me and moved on to Nick and AJ, I listened and piped up when I thought it was appropriate and I teased Nick a lot.

“So Jaime, back to you just quickly, where are the other girls?” She asked

“Jenn’s with her sister down behind us somewhere and Taz is with her Mum back in the city I think” I said

“Cool, well I believe you guys are going to sing a little song for us?” She asked

“We sure are” AJ said

“And why did you choose this particular song?” She asked

“Well, mainly because it’d be way too awkward to sing a BSB song with just acoustic guitar and we only had last night to learn it” Nick said

“And Jaime, did you pick it?” She asked

“No, we all chose it and practised it for about 6 hours last nite over a few beers, lemme tell you, this boy has expensive taste” I said pointing to Nick

“Corona’s not expensive” He replied

“Dude, Toohey’s Dry is like 7 bucks cheaper than Corona” I argued

“AJ how did you feel with them drinking?” Kelly interrupted

“You know I just drink Coke and keep an eye on them, it doesn’t bother me all that much, as long as they’re responsible” He said

“Were they?” She asked. Nick and I beamed at him. He laughed and shook his head

“They were right up until I suggested a we should improvise with the song we chose and than they went kinda stupid” He said with a laugh

“It was funny though” Nick said

“yeah it was. I couldn’t stop laughing” AJ admitted.

“So what is the song?” Kelly asked

“It’s called Oh Me and Nirvana sings it on their Unplugged in New York CD” I said

“Well go for it” She said. I picked up my guitar and stretched my fingers. Nick had rigged up a little make-shift drum kit last night and now he’d shifted it in front of him and was testing it out. I made sure they were ready and strummed the guitar gently, and Nick joined in on the drums. I cleared my throat quickly and took a breath, starting to sing softly, but loud enough for the people to hear me.

“If I had to lose a mile, if I ahd to touch feelings, I would lose my soul the way I do. I don’t have think, I only have to do it, the results are always perfect but that’s old news. Would you like to hear my voice sprinkled with emotion. Invented at your birth” I sang. AJ was clicking his fingers along and both guys took a breath and started singing with me.

“I can’t see the end of me, my whole expanse I cannot see” We all sang

“Formulate infinity stored deep inside me” AJ sang and I started into the slight guitar solo and than Nick started singing.

“If I had to lose a mile, if I ahd to touch feelings, I would lose my soul the way I do. I don’t have think, I only have to do it, the results are always perfect but that’s old news. Would you like to hear my voice sprinkled with emotion. Invented at your birth” He sang with emotion and than we all sang. AJ finished the song off and I strummed the guitar gently, fading it out. The people around us started clapping and we waved.

“Thanks guys” Said Kelly. We all said something back and the guy behind the camera turned it off.

“Well that was interesting” I said under my breath as I put my guitar back in it’s case

“I say we go get more beers” Nick said to me. I laughed and looked at AJ who was shaking his head.

“Ya’ll are gonna end up like me” He said

“Aww I was jokin Jay” He said

“Maybe we should go find Jenn and get brekky” I said with a yawn

“or go back to Bed?” AJ asked. I grinned at him.

“oh my god, Nick Nick” A girl started screaming out. Nick spun around and saw a girl standing behind the barricade holding a poster and apen. He looked at us and rolled his eyes before going over and smiling at the girl.

“You know, I really liked singing that with you guys” I said to AJ

“We sounded good” He replied

“So gonna busk in Hyde Park” I grinned. He started laughing and shook his head.

“You’re crazy you know that?” He said

“That’s why you love me” I smiled sweetly. He laughed again and went over to Nick.

Chapter 2

“Jaime” Called out Tara ‘Taz’ Orman, my band mate and best friend, as I stepped into the restaurant. I grinned and made my way over to where she and Jennsen ‘Jenn’ Pena , my other band mate and best friend, were sitting. I dropped in the seat beside Taz and grinned at my two friends as I put my guitar case down.

“How’d your interview go?” They asked

“It was fucked up, severely, I don’t know why they just want to interview me and not you guys too” I said

“They love you more” Jenn said with a pout.

“Aww I don’t know why, I SUCK” I said they laughed.

“Where we gonna go that’s private?” Taz asked. I looked around at the few people spread out at various tables and shrugged.

“Here’s good” I said

“The fella’s will come and annoy us though” Jenn said

“Yeah” I agreed. We’d planned to spend the afternoon trying to write some songs, now we just needed to find somewhere private.

“How about in Hyde Park?” Taz asked with a shrug

“Hey, that’s a good idea” Jenn said with a nod

“Yeah we can stock up on food and coke and spread out in Hyde Park” I said

“Why you goin to Hyde park?” AJ asked sitting beside Jenn

“To write songs” I said

“You need an expert opinion?” He asked

“Sure, where’s the expert?” I asked looking around

“You know what? You’re mean” He said flicking my cap off my head

“Dawg, don’t touch my cap” I said. He grinned. I flipped him off.

“Did you know, last night Jaime here was all over Nick, they were flirting big time. I think a romance is in the work” He said looking at me with an evil grin.

“Oh you bastard” I glared. He grinned even wider.

“Jaime Cobain, you and Nick?” Taz asked, her eyes wide, Jenn was nudging me over the table

“We flirted, that doesn’t mean we’re gonna get married” I said blushing

“Did you notice that she didn’t come back to your room last night?” He asked, looking between Taz and Jenn. They both looked at me. I sank lower in my seat and looked away.

“Jaime…” Said Jenn

“What?” I asked

“Hey you losers, what’s doin?” Came Nicks voice. I closed my eyes and sank even lower. I opened them and saw both girls staring at him with open mouths, AJ was chuckling.

“What?” Nick asked dragging a chair over and sitting near Jenn.

“How was your night?” Taz asked him

“It was alright, I slept good, why?” He asked giving her a weird look. Taz glanced at me and Nick looked at me.

“What’s goin on?” He asked

“Nothing” Jenn said quickly. I played with the cutlery sitting in front of me

“Yeah right, what are we doing today?” He asked us all

“We are going to Hyde Park to write songs” I said, knowing that as soon as we were out of earshot of Nick and AJ they’d attack me with questions

“Can I come?” He asked

“No” Taz said

“We could help” AJ said

“Or distract” Jenn said with a laugh, looking at me. I punched her in the arm and stood up.

“When you 2 care to join me, I’ll be walking to Hyde Park” I said grabbing my guitar case

“Should you be walking around Sydney on your own?” Nick asked

“Probably not” I said with a shrug

“Well wait up I’ll walk you” He said

“First of all, you don’t know the way, second of all you’ll need security and THAT will draw more attention to us. I’m pretty sure I’ll be ok” I said with a nod

“We’re coming anyway” Taz said also standing up

“Yeah, let’s go” Jenn said grabbing her bag which I hoped contained pens and a LOT of paper.

“Bye” I called out over my shoulder. I didn’t hear a reply, but I was right, as soon as we were out of the restaurant Taz grabbed my arm.

“Did you?” She asked

“Did I what?” I asked playing dumb

“Did you do stuff?” Jenn asked

“I do stuff everyday” I said

“Did you fuck him?” Taz asked, point blank.

“No” I said, not very convincingly

“Oh come off it” Jenn said rolling her eyes

“So what if I did” I shrugged

“Was it good?” They asked at the same time

“Well apart from being extremely drunk and kinda awkward yes it was good, thanks for asking” I said

“Do you love him?” taz asked me softly

“What? No!” I said

“Than why did you sleep with him?” She asked. Jenn was walking backwards in front of us, listening intently

“Because we were both lonely” I said and shrugged. I seemed to be doing a lot of shrugging.

“So it was a one off?” Jenn asked

“I would presume so” I said

“Jesus, Jaime, you fucked a Backstreet Boy” Taz said. Someone turned and looked at us and I hushed her.

“So that’s it?” Jenn asked

“Yes” I said

“Protection?” She asked looking at me. I tried to remember and just shrugged. She shook her head and mumbled something.

“I take the pill” I said

“Wonder if Nick told anyone” Taz said

“Well he obviously told AJ” I said rolling my eyes as we walked up a slight slope of grass into the park.

“This tree looks good” I said sitting down on the roots that were sticking up through the ground.

“Who’s gonna go get the food?” Jenn asked

“Oh I will, just don’t let this guitar out of your site” I said looking at them both

“Swear to god” She answered. Taz nodded her head. I walked back down the slope and onto the street, waiting to cross the road. I found the nearest supermarket and went in, grabbing a basket on my way through. I piled chips and lollies and drinks into it and found an esky that I could put the drinks in. I bought it and a couple of bags of ice and stood out the front puytting the drinks and ice in the esky. I just smiled at the people giving me weird looks. I lugged it all back to the park and saw Nick and AJ sitting with Jenn and Taz. I rolled my eyes and went over, putting the bags and esky down and taking my seat on the root that was sticking up. It just happened to be close to Nick.

“What are you 2 dick heads doing here?” I asked opening a bag of chips and taking out a hand full

“We were bored” AJ stated, eyeing them hungrily. I pushed the packet towards him and he snatched it up, grinning.

“So you decided to come and annoy us?” Taz asked taking the bag off him

“Of course” Nick said matter of factly

“Gimme some paper” I said to Jenn. She handed me a notebook and a pencil and pen and I grinned and  glanced at Nick from behind my sunglasses.

“Hey Taz” Nick said suddenly

“Yea what?” She answered tearing her gaze from the Pepsi Max in the esky

“What the hell is with the comb over?” He asked. Both Taz and I cracked up laughing. I fell backwards and landed in Nick’s arms. This time Jenn cracked up laughing too. Taz and I just laughed harder.

“Sorry man” I managed to get out

“Oh you love it” Jenn grinned wickedly

“Well what can I say?” I asked

“Do you love it” Taz said in a ditzy voice

“Like TOTALLY” I replied, also in a ditzy voice. We both cracked up again and Nick had to physically lift me off him.

“You’re ripping off Paris?” Nick asked

“Yah! Well she’s a skank” I said with a shrug. He nodded, shrugged and grinned.

“You seemed to like her last year” He said

“Yeah, what’s on the outside, is not necessarily what’s on the inside” Jenn said

“So you were faking?” Nick asked

“Basically” I said

“I hate her” He said shaking his head

“Yeah I could kinda tell” I said. A grin spread across his face and he nodded. An image from the previous night flashed through my mind and I looked down at the notebook in my lap. I wrote the word ‘passionate’ down and thought for a second before smiling to myself and writing ‘smile’ in brackets on the next line. Next to that I jotted down ‘Melting’ and ‘Heart-warming’ and snuck a glance at him. ‘Gorgeous’ and ‘charming’ also came to mind so I wrote them down too.

“So tell us about your night Nicky” Said Jenn. My head snapped up I and gave her the meanest look I possibly could, but at the same time, was trying to keep the grin off my face.

“Well what do you wanna know?” He asked with a laugh

“We want you to admit it” Taz said

“Admit what? That Jaime and I fucked? Well, we did” He said. They both looked disappointed.

“You tossers” I said and chucked a chip at them each.

“If you want it to be good girl, get yourself a bad boy” AJ suddenly sang.

“Mmm, not for me” I said with a laugh

“ Cos I don’t want you back” Taz said with a shrug. She grinned at me

“It’s true” Jenn said with a nod. We all started laughing. I reached over and picked up my guitar. I absently started strumming the opening to JC Chasez ‘All Day Long I Dream About Sex’. AJ sort of clapped a long and I nodded my head.

“So you wanna be a rockstar keep it goin don’t stop work it while you’re on top call the cops, roller coaster riding baby up and down I love to watch you do it” I sang

“I just want to get close to you, find out what it takes to move you, feel the rhythm, hit the spot, getting hot, all night long” Nick joined in. I looked at him and felt the smile creep across my face.

Chapter 3

6 ½ hours later all of us made our way back into the hotel, Nick was piggy backing me.

“So what are you 3 doing on our last night off?” AJ asked

“Ima hit the clubs” I piped up from Nick’s back

“Why?” AJ asked

“Because I’m old enough to and there’s nothing worse than staying in a scabby hotel room on your last night off” I said

“I’m there” Taz said

“I might pass… I’m gonna see if Howie wants to hang out” Jenn said with a shrug

“Nick you in?” I asked as we stepped on to the lift

“Sure am” He said

“Alexander?” I asked. He laughed and shrugged.

“Someone’s gotta keep an eye on you lot” Was his answer

“So, it’s settled, we’re all goin out. I say we empty a mini bar or 3 first” I said

“Of course!” Taz grinned. AJ shook his head and laughed.

“Who’s room first?” Nick asked

“Ours” Taz and I said together. We grinned at each other

“Settled we’ll give you ladies an hour to get ready and then we’ll be bargin on through that door” AJ said

“An hour is more than enough” Taz grinned. I laughed. Nick set me down outside our room and grinned before following AJ down the corridor to where their rooms were.

“I’m gonna go see Howie” Jenn said

“have a good night Chicka” I called out as she knocked on a door

“I will” She answered. I grinned at Taz and opened the door to our room. It was an absolute MESS.

“You think we should clean up a little?” She asked

“Maybe” I said. We were only staying in a relatively cheap hotel because of the fan situation, so the rooms weren’t all that. Taz, Jenn and I had to share a room, so we rotated, Last night Jenn had the double bed, Taz had the single bed and I was meant to have the Fold up bed. I shared Nick’s king size bed instead. We quickly shoved the fold up bed under the single bed and put all the clothes that were on the floor in a pile under the double bed and then we went through each others bags trying to find something to wear. I pulled another pair of baggy jeans from my bag and laid them out on the bed.

“You can’t wear baggy jeans” Taz said

“Why not?” I answered

“Because we’re going out” She said

“So?” I asked

“So… I don’t know, don’t you wanna impress Nick?” She asked

“No” I said. She looked taken aback.

“Oh Christ Taz I fucked him that’s it” I said laughing

“I dare you to hump his leg, when he comes in” She grinned. I laughed and nodded. I found my ‘He Loves me, But I don’t Care’ singlet and raced her to the bathroom. She won. I unburied my ipod from my pile of stuff on the counter thing and found the speakers for it. I set it up to play in random order and pressed play. Taz came out of the bathroom in a pair of flare jeans and a purple boob tube and slipped her boots on.

“You better hurry, they’ll be here in a while” She said. I went into the bathroom and had a quick shower. I got out and quickly brushed my teeth before drying off and getting dressed. I opened the door and the both of us crowded around the mirror to do our hair and make-up.

“You know, I think while we’re here in Sydney I’ll get my tongue pierced” I said as I put a little bit of eyeliner on. She was busy combing her hair to one side and securing it with some funky looking clips.

“Jawesome” She grinned

“Either that or a tatt” I said with a shrug

“What tatt would you get?” She asked as she used my mascara. I started playing around with my hair and decided a cap would look just fine.

“Dunno, maybe like a word down my spine, like Nick’s” I said

“That’s his ‘Kaos’ Tatt right?” She asked

“Mmhmm, it’s so hot” I said. She laughed

“Is he big?” She asked

“Hell yeah!” I exclaimed. She laughed again and grinned. I knew that she’d had a thing for him for a while now, but it was an agreement of ours that as long as it was purely physical and not emotional we could fuck whoever we wanted. We went out to the room and I’d put my cap on backwards just as Nick burst through the door, closely followed by AJ.

“Whoa lookin good ladies” AJ was saying. I was too busy checking them out.

“Jaime, Jaime, Jaime” Nick was saying

“What?” I asked

“When you gonna start dressing like a girl?” He asked, but I saw him look me over appreciatively.

“I’ll probably wear a dress when I die, only because Taz and Jenn will dress me themselves” I said rolling my eyes

“What about your wedding day?” AJ asked taking a seat on the double bed

“Well I’m not getting married, ever, too much emotional bullshit and if I do decide to marry my fuck buddy I’ll be wearing this exact outfit” Is aid. Nick scanned the shirt and raised his eyes.

“He loves me, but I don’t care” He read out loud. I nodded and went over to the mini bar. I got out 3 beers and one coke. I handed the coke to AJ and he smiled at me. I grinned back and gave the other 2 beers to Nick and Taz.

“Oh, Nick, before you sit down” I said

“What?” He asked. I went over and smiled up at him, humping his leg. Taz cracked up but Nick just gave me a weird look and stepped away. I started laughing and sat down on the ground.

“What was that about?” AJ asked with a chuckle

“Taz dared me to hump his leg” I said with a shrug. Nick’s eyes fell on Taz and she grinned at him. We drank for about another 2 hours before we decided to go out. When we got out of the hotel, Nick and AJ both lit cigarettes.

“Where’s mine?” I asked

“Since when do you smoke?” AJ asked handing me his packet

“Since forever, our manager told me not to smoke on tour though” I said lighting up

“What the hell? You can do whatever you want on tour, you’re old enough” Nick said

“Yeah, I guess” I said

“So you haven’t had a cigarette for 6 months?” AJ asked

“No, I’ve smoked, just not in public” I said

“Hey this one looks good” Taz piped up as we stopped out the front of a club. The line up was long.

“Oh yeah, pick the club with the biggest line up” I said to her.

“Give me your hand” AJ said to me

“Oh AJ, I didn’t know you felt that way” I laughed. He chuckled and lead me towards the front of the line. I looked behind me and saw Nick’s arm around Taz.

“Sup bro?” AJ asked the bouncer

“Nota, they 18?” He asked nodding at me and Taz

“Sure are” AJ smiled. He pushed open the door and nodded us through, much to the disgust of the people lining up.

“Hell yeah!” I yelled slapping AJ on the back. He laughed and turned to see Nick and Taz following us.

“What are you drinking?” I asked Nick

“Corona, of course” He said. I rolled my eyes and looked at Taz.

“Corona” She said with a grin

“3 Corona’s, Jay what you drinking?” I asked turning to look at him

“Bourbon and Coke, hold the bourbon” He said. I laughed and made my way towards the Bar. I waited in line and bounced to the music.

“Hi Can I buy you a drink?” Asked a guy, smiling at me and touching my arm

“Sure if you wanna buy my friends one too” I grinned

“How many friends have you got?” He asked

“Well there’s Nicky and Alex and Taz” I said

“Nicky and Alex are girls too?” He asked

“Nope, they’re guys” I grinned and turned to wave. AJ started making his way over and the guy tensed.

“Sup Chicka?” He asked putting his arm around me

“Nothin, this line is just so long” I said rolling my eyes

“I’ll show you a trick” He said leading me to the front of the line. The guy watched in awe.

“Excuse me, you pushed in” Said a guy

“Do you realise who this is?” AJ asked

“No” Said the guy

“This is Jaime Cobain, Kurt’s cousin, she’s so famous over in America. I can’t believe you don’t know who she is. She’s an Australian” AJ was saying. The guy looked at me and recognition flickered in his eyes. I smiled.

“I’m so sorry, go ahead” He said stepping back.

“Thanks Hun” I cooed. He grinned and I turned around to the bar.

“I’m not famous in America” I hissed to AJ

“You will be as soon as the album’s finished” He said back.

“I can’t believe you lied” I said laughing. The bartender came over and looked at us, bored.

“3 Corona’s and Coke” I said

“We’d like a tab too” AJ piped up

“Name?” He asked

“McLean, Alex” I said before AJ could say anything. He laughed at me. The guy wrote the drinks and prices down and then went and got them. As we carried the drinks past the guy who was cracking on to me, I ignored him. AJ nudged me. I laughed. We found Taz and Nick who were sitting at a table and sat down with them. I downed half my beer in a couple of big gulps and smiled at Nick.

“So who want’s to dance?” I asked. The guys both shook their heads no, but Taz jumped up. I laughed and stood up as well. I had another gulp of beer and set it on the table before following her to where people were dancing.

Chapter 4

We were dancing to an Eminem song when I felt arms slip around me. The look on Taz’s face told me it was Nick. It was a kind of ‘You bitch’ look mixed with a little ‘hehe you go girlfriend’ look. I turned my head, just to make sure it was in fact Nick. He grinned down at me.

“Whatchu want?” I asked

“So it’s not ok to dance with you?” He asked as we moved in time with the music.

“Hell yes it’s ok, but poor Taz over there is feeling a little lost and lonely” I said. He let go of me and wrapped his arms around Taz who gave me a grin and a wink.

“I’m gonna go have a drink” I said to her. She nodded and kept dancing with Nick. I went and dropped into the seat beside AJ. I picked up my beer and finished it off.

“You should come and dance” I said to him

“I don’t wanna embarrass you” He said with a chuckle

“Aww come on” I said

“I don’t dance” He said with a smile

“But you’re the best dancer of the group” I persisted

“Nah, I’m not much of a dancer when it’s not choreographed” He grinned

“Bullshit” I said. He laughed and nodded.

“I am” I said

“Proove it” I grinned. He laughed harder and shook his head.

“Why not?” I pouted

“Because I only dance dirty, and the way you and Nick were last night I’d say he might get jealous” He said in my ear

“Oh come on! Does it look like he’s thinking of me at all?” I said pointing over to where Nick and Taz were doing some naughty things on the dance floor. The most noticeable being his tongue down her throat.

“GO TAZ, WOOT!” I yelled out. I don’t think she heard me but I cracked up anyway.

“You and Taz are really crazy you know that?” He asked

“Yeah we are. We just have so much fun together” I said

“How did you meet Jenn?” He asked

“I talked to her on the internet for about 6 months before I moved to America and than I stayed with her for a while until I got my own place, that’s when Taz moved there too” I said

“Were you all fans of ours?” He asked curiously

“Hell yeah” I said grinning

“You want another beer, while I’m at the bar?” He asked

“You’re not allowed get alcohol” I said

“Fuck it” He said with a shrug

“I’ll go, you stay put” I said standing up. He laughed and nodded. I made my way over to the bar and waited.

“Yeah?” Asked a chick

“3 Corna’s a coke and 3 cock sucking cowboy shots” I said. She nodded and walked away. I turned around and watched As AJ stood and started dancing with Nick and Taz. I shook my head and grinned.

“Tab?” She asked

“McLean” I answered. She nodded and went to find the note book. She came back over and wrote everything plus the price down. I carried everything over to where our table was and sat down to wait. The 3 of them came over after the next song and sat down, laughing.

“I thought you didn’t dance” I glared playfully at AJ. He grinned and took his coke.

“I made the exception” He shrugged. I stuck my tongue out and he laughed.

“Time for some shots” I said to Nick and Taz, passing them out.

“To fame” Nick said holding up his shot glass

“Mmm, To Music” Taz piped up

“To air humping” I grinned and stood up, air humping nothing in particular. They all laughed and Nick, Taz and I shot down our drinks.

“Mm I gotta pee, Taz?” I asked nodding in the direction of the bathrooms. She grinned and stood, following me through the crowd to the bathrooms.

“What was THAT about?” I asked her as soon as we were in and the door was closed

“What?” She asked trying to keep herself from grinning.

“You so know what I’m talking about” I said. Her grin finally spread across her face and I started laughing.

“Well it was completely unexpected, that’s for sure” She said

“Spill” I said hoisting myself up onto the counter

“Well we were just dancing and than almost out of no where he’s got his tongue down my throat” She said, her eyes wide and a massive grin on her face.

“Good kisser huh” I said

“Oh fuck yes” She said

“So…?” I asked

“So what?” She said looking at me

“Plans?” She asked. She started laughing and shrugged. I grinned.

“Maybe later than” I said and slipped off the counter

“Any progress with AJiggity?” She asked

“Workin on it” I grinned and pushed open the door. We went back over to the 2 guys who were laughing about something.

“Come dance Nicky” I said

“Sure thing Chicka” he grinned. I raised my eyebrow at Taz and she took the hint.

“AJ, dance with me?” She asked

“Yeah ok” He said. I grabbed my beer and let Nick pull me on to the dance floor. He slid his thumb through my back belt loop and let his hand rest on my butt. I draped my arm around his neck and we started dancing. AJ and Taz were being complete dickheads beside us and I recognised our ‘make the pizza’ move and started laughing. Taz suddenly linked arms with me and we started skipping in a circle. Both of us were laughing. She let me go and I ran into AJ who caught me around the waist. I grinned at him and looked at Taz who was now attempting to do some kind of break dancing. I started laughing and had to lean on AJ.

Chapter 5

We’d moved on to another club and Nick and Taz were having the time of their lives. They looked kinda cute together, Taz with her comb over look and Nick with his hair slicked down by sweat. I watched them over AJ’s shoulder as he kissed my neck. Taz looked in our direction and gave me the thumbs up. I mimed ‘woot’ in her direction and she started laughing and turned back to Nick.

“Mmm, you smell like Alcohol” AJ said in my ear

“Do you want me to stop drinking?” I asked

“Nope” Was all he said before he pressed his lips against mine. I kissed back, wrapping my arms around him. I felt my cap falling off and broke the kiss to fix it.

“You like that cap huh?” AJ grinned at me

“Tis my lucky cap” I grinned. He snatched it off my head and put it on his, side ways. I laughed.

“Drink?” He asked

“Hell yeah, coke again?” I asked. He nodded. I went to the bar and was waiting to be served when I felt arms wrap around my waist from behind. I looked down and recognised the tattoo’s on the arms.

“Couldn’t keep away from me huh?” I grinned turning my head slightly

“Who’d wanna be away from you for more than a second?” he growled in my ear. I laughed and ordered the drinks. We carried them over to a table and sat down. I downed half my beer in 3 gulps and grinned at AJ who was shaking his head with a smile on his face. I grinned and stood up, leaning over.

“Ima go dance” I said in his ear before turning around and making my way over to Nick and Taz who were doing some serious touching and grinding.

“Heya big boy” I said

“Heya” He answered over Taz’s shoulder.

“Where’s your partner?” Taz asked turning around in Nicks arms

“He’s over there” I said nodding my head in AJ’s direction as I danced

“That’s not very Nice” Nick said

“Meh” I shrugged

“Do it” Taz grinned at me. I felt the grin spread across my own face.

“I can’t, there’s too much music, he won’t hear me” I answered

“What the hell are you two on about?” Nick asked with a laugh

“Nothing. I’ll do it on the way back to the hotel” I said. Taz grinned.

“There’s drinks on the table, if you guys are thirsty” I said

“Ohh beer” Taz grinned and ran away. I grinned at Nick who pulled me into his arms.

“I saw you and Taz getting a lil hot and heavy” I said. He shrugged.

“Yeah, she’s hot, I like her, but I can’t shake the image of the other night from my head” He said

“Mmm, me either” I said with a smile

“I don’t wanna hurt her or anything, I mean if I had the opportunity I’d definitely you know, but I dunno. I’d prefer you” He shrugged

“Well, Nicky, we both agreed that you only had a ticket for a one night only show” I said

“Yeha I know” He said laughing

“Taz rocks ok? You’ll soon forget about moi” I said. He pulled me closer and slid his hands from my back to my hips.

“You and AJ seem to be having fun” He said as we dirty danced

“He’s reluctant to do anything” I said with a shrug

“Cos he’s thinking of you and me the other night” He said

“I bet this isn’t helping” I said as we grinded against each other. Nick laughed and took my hand, spinning me out and pulling me back in.

“No probably not, let’s go have a drink” He said. I grinned and waited for him to start walking. I jumped on his back and he stumbled, laughing.

“Jus friends right?” I asked

“Jus friends” he agreed before we reached the table. He bent his knees and I slid off and sat beside AJ who put his arm over the back of the seat behind me. Nick slid out his phone and looked at it and then at us.

“It’s like 4:30” He said

“Hmm we should head back” AJ was saying

“What?” Taz and I screeched. Both guys started laughing. I skolled my beer and glared playfully at him.

“You’re dragging US away from a club?” I asked. Nick was pissing himself laughing

“I guess we should… we’re already very drunk” Taz said

“True” I answered

“And we can do that thing” She grinned.

“Yeah” I said with a laugh. I heard a familiar guitar riff I jumped up.

“Please please PLEASE come dance with me” I begged AJ

“To this? No way” He said

“Nicky?” I asked turning to him

“Aww I can’t this is JC” He said

“Who gives a fuck, damnit if one of you don’t dance with me you’re gonna have hell to pay” I whined. They both shrugged.

“Fuck ya’s than” I said and went over to the crowd of people dancing. I kept my eye on them and started air humping and pelvic thrusts and just basically dancing as dirty as I could with my self. I felt someone behind me and grinned, looking straight at AJ who was looking uncomfortable. This’ll teach you baby I thought to myself and turned around to find myself in the arms of a nice looking dark haired guy.

“Hi” He said winking

“Howdy” I answered pushing myself up against him

“Couldn’t help but notice you were all alone” He was saying in my ear

“Yeah” I said and felt a tap on my shoulder. The guy was look behind me with a scowl on his face

“Sorry I took so long sweetie” I heard AJ’s voice

“Thanks for the dance” I said to the guy and turned into AJ’s arms.

“You are a damn tease” He murmured in my ear as I stood close to him, moving my hips from side to side, grinding against him gently.

“Whatcha gonna do about it?” I asked. He spun me around so my back was to him and his hands were resting on my stomach. He moved his hips in a circle and I felt him sliding his hand down the front of my jeans. I looked over at Taz who was cheering me on and half smiled. I turned my head into AJ’s neck and titled it back, kissing it softly before I pulled his hand out and spun around, arching my back against him, in particular his crotch. I got the reaction I wanted and grinned at him.

“Watch it sweetheart” He growled. I grinned and did it again. He caught my hands and held them behind my back as he grinded against me. Fomr what I could feel he was NOT a small man. In fact from what I felt, I would say he was hung like a horse. I grinned at him and leaned backwards, closing my eyes. He pulled me gently into a standing position as the song ended and let me go.

“We really gotta go now” He said, staying behind me as we walked back over to Nick and Taz.

“That was interesting” Taz said with a grin

“We should go now” Nick said with a nod

“After you” I said to AJ stepping to the side

“Thanks” He said and glared. He fixed his shirt and walked past, Nick following him. Taz and I walked after them and out the door together. Both Nick and AJ lit smokes and I pouted until AJ gave me one. I grinned and he lit it for me. We walked in the general direction of the hotel, Taz and I a metre or so in front of the guys.

“Do it” taz said to me

“Aww but you gotta do it too” I said

“I can’t do it as good as you” She said

“Fine” I said. We’d come up to another club with a bunch of people out the front of it. I stopped and turned to AJ who was looking at me curiously

“Be a sweetheart and hold this” I said handing him my cigarette and turning to Taz. She grinned.

“I’m ready, for romance. I got to show you, how you make me dance” I sang and did the familiar dance moves.

“Let me be your little l-l-l-lover girl” I sang and put my hand on my hips, swinging around in a circle and then thrusting

“We can be, like little l-l-l-love birds” I sang and did the thrust dance move again. Nick and AJ looked at each other and than at me. I grinned and sang Nicks part, exactly doing the ‘yeah yeah yeah’ bit just like he did it all those years ago.

“You did NOT just sing that” Nick was saying. Taz was pissing herself laughing on the ground somewhere behind me.

“I thought no one would ever see that again” Nick said to him and I could make out the slight blush that’d settled on his cheeks.

“How?” Was all AJ said

“Internet” I grinned

“Fuck that” he said. Taz was still laughing.

“Dawg don’t do that ever again” Nick said to me. I grinned and leaned up, kissing his cheek.

“You loved it” I said. He shook his head. I went over to Taz and helped her up. We started walking again.

“How can I begin to tell you what you do to me every time I hear you, more willing to wanna see you. I know that there’s no use in trying to explain my confusion, but still I’m not complaining about my situation” I sang

“Let’s not talk about a possible ending” Taz and I sang together. I turned my head and saw Nick and AJ trailing a little further back, their heads bent in conversation.

“Jay” I yelled out

“What?” He answered

“You should so be up here protecting us” I said. I saw him look at Nick, shrug and started jogging up to us. Nick followed. When they reached us he draped his arm around my shoulders.

“So what am I protecting you ladies from?” He asked

“Nothin, I just wanted you to hold me” I grinned. He laughed. Before I knew what was goin on, he had me up against a wall and was kissing me roughly.

Chapter 6

“What was that for?” I asked when he broke the kiss

“You’ve been asking for it all night” He said, resting one hand on my butt and the other on the wall behind me

“Mmhmm” I agreed

“I don’t usually go for girls your age” He said, bringing his head closer to mine

“Why not? I’m legal. Katie was only 19” I shrugged

“OH GO JAIME! WOOT!” I heard Taz yell out. I ignored her. I slipped one hand around his neck and the other around his waist and up his back.

“When we get back to the hotel you’re coming with me” He said in my ear

“Is that right” I answered

“You feel this?” He asked pushing against me more

“Depends what I’m actually feeling for” I teased

“Oh god Jaime I am going to fuck you so hard you’re gonna scream” He murmured. I pushed him away and grinned.

“Well you’re gonna have to wait a while baby” I said and started walking away. He caught my wrist and pulled me against him, kissing me once more.

“The sooner we walk, the sooner we’ll be at the hotel” I said against his lips

“you’re absolutely right” He agreed and, still holding my wrist, started running. I followed, laughing. We passed Taz and Nick who were holding hands and I waved at them.

“Slow down” I said laughing. He slowed to a walk, but it was almost a power walk. The hotel came into view and I felt his grip loosen a little.

“Come on” He said

“AJ” I said stopping him

“What?” He asked looking at me

“Should we wait for them?” I asked nodding back at Nick and taz

“No, let’s go” He said. I laughed and let him pull me into the foyer. The night staff looked at us like we were stupid, but as soon as AJ smiled and nodded they turned their heads. We stepped onto the elevator and he pushed me against the wall.

“hey hold up” Nick was calling out. AJ groaned and put his arm across the door, stepping back a little. Nick and Taz stepped on. Nick raised his eyebrows behind AJ’s back. I just grinned and glanced down. Nick started laughing, taz caught on and cracked up too.

“Oh like you didn’t have one last night” AJ snapped

“no you’re absolutely right, I did and you know what? I had to walk through a crowded club too” Nick said. Taz was laughing so hard she was leaning against the wall. I pulled AJ closer to me and turned him around so my back was to Nick and taz. I leaned into him and kissed his cheek. He wasn’t as ‘up’ anymore so pressed right up against him and moved my head beside his.

“I can’t wait until we’re in your room” I mumbled

“Why?” He answered

“Didn’t you say you were gonna fuck me so hard I’d scream?” I said, keeping my voice low. His response was a groan. Taz was still laughing and Nick was trying to calm her down.

“I want you so bad” I whispered grinding against him slightly

He broke the kiss and I lifted it off his body and dropped it on the ground. I heard the door next door close and wished Taz a silent good luck.. AJ was pulling my singlet over my head as I fumbled with his belt and buttons on his pants. In No time we were both naked and he was pushing me against the wall again. He lifted me into his arms and leaned me against the wall as he guided himself inside me. I felt my head roll back and moaned loudly. He moved across the room and laid us both down on the bed. He slammed in and out of me, groaning with each movement.

“Oh God AJ” I breathed, clenching the bed sheets in my fists. He lowered his head to my neck and started kissing it. I let the sheets go and slid my arms around his back, holding on to him. He slowed his pace slightly but I felt him become frustrated.

“AJ” I murmured

“What?” He answered

“I’m not screaming yet” I said. He lifted his head and grinned down at me, increasing his pace again. He got up on his knees and lay over me, pounding in and out of me again. I didn’t quite scream but as waves of pleasure swept my body I called out pretty damn loud. He came not long after me and rolled off me, puffing slightly. He pulled the condom off and threw it somewhere. I laughed and pulled a sheet up, covering myself and him.

“How you feeling?” He asked me softly

“To tell you the truth, I feel kind of slutty” I said after a minute of silence

“Why’s that?” He asked

“So?” He asked

“So, I’ve rooted 2 Backstreet Boys in 48 hours” I said

“Who cares” He said turning his head and kissing my forehead. We lay in silence for a while when all of a sudden there was a squeal and a thump from next door. We both started laughing.

“You think they’re ok?” He asked

“Taz can handle herself” I grinned

“Go to sleep, we need to get up soon” He whispered. I rolled onto my other side and felt him follow, wrapping his other arm around me. I fell asleep about 2 minutes later.

Chapter 7

I woke up when the phone started ringing and was shocked to find myself alone. Not even Nick had left until I’d woken up. I sat up and rubbed my eyes quickly before rolling over and picking up the phone.

“What?” I asked

“We’re down stairs, where are you?” Came Jenn’s voice

“In bed” I said wondering why she was Ringing AJ’s phone

“Well hurry up and get down here” She said and hung up. I hung up and fell backwards, laying there for a minute. I finally got motivated and stood up, finding my clothes and getting dressed before going down to the room I shared with Jenn and Taz and went in. I had a quick shower and dressed in another pair of jeans and my Ramones shirt. I pulled a cap on my head and grabbed my sunglasses and wallet before goin out the door. I decided not to take the elevator as my stomach was churning as it is and instead trotted down the stairs. I pushed open the door and made my way towards the restaurant. I spotted everyone sitting at a big long table and noticed the only free seat was next to AJ. I hoped he didn’t hate me. I went over and dropped down, laying my head on his shoulder.

“I’m sleepy” I mumbled

“Wake up” He said with a chuckle. He placed a coffee in front of me and I drank most of it in one gulp, scolding my mouth a little.

“This is good” I said to him. He smiled. I felt his hand on my knee under the table and quickly had another drink. I looked over at Taz and Nick who were in their own little world.

“taz” I said

“Yea what?” She asked looking over at me

“How was your night?” I asked

“Twas fine, yours?” She asked

“It was good” I said. Nick grinned and I turned my head to see AJ do the same. Jenn looked rather happy herself.

“Jenn-sinful” I said

“Don’t call me that” She whined

“how was your night?” I asked, ignoring her. She looked over at Howie and half smiled.

“It was alright” She grinned.

“So why’d ya’s wake my hung over butt up?” I asked finishing off the coffee and leaning over to steal Nicks. He glared playfully but let me have it.

“The fella’s and I have a surprise for you and Taz” AJ said

“Oh I like surprises” Taz piped up

“Me too” I grinned and downed Nicks coffee

“Well we know that both of you miss your country and your home town” Kev started. I looked down into the empty coffee cups and sighed. They had no idea.

“So we bought us all plane tickets to spend the next week in Tamworth” Brian finished

“You’re fucken shittin me right?” I asked looking up at them. AJ spread 8 plane tickets on the table and Taz and I looked at each other. We both started screaming and jumped up, running around to each other and hugging. My stomach wasn’t agreeing but I ignored it as we jumped in a circle. Taz’s parents had moved to Newcastle not long ago but both of us still loved Tamworth. For all the memories we’ve got of being dickheads in Peel St or being dickheads at my house. Maybe just being Dickheads everywhere.

“Jai we’re goin home” Taz said to me

“I know. It’s so good oh my god thank you” I said hugging each one of the guys. I lingered on AJ and kissed his cheek. He smiled.

“When do we go?” Taz asked

“Straight after tomorrow nights show” Kev said

“oh this is gonna be fucking JAWESOME” I exclaimed, sitting back down. For a while taz and I told them about Tamworth and how it wasn’t very exciting.

“We should get going” Kev piped up lookin at his watch

“Where are we going?” Jenn asked with a frown

“You 3 are not goin anyway, we are going to do an interview” Bri said with a grin

“What are we gonna do?” Taz asked. I looked at her and we both started grinning. Both of us stood and started doing the Mister Bean ‘air hump’. Jenn gave us a look and shook her head but the 5 guys were cracking up laughing. They left and Taz and Jenn and I looked round at each other and shrugged our shoulders.

“Hyde Park?” I asked. They obviously didn’t like that suggestion because I ended up with left over bacon scraps down my top.

“You’re obsessed with that bloody park” Taz said. I just grinned and shrugged.

“Yes, yes I am” I grinned.

“What did you do last night Jenn?” Taz asked. Jenn blushed slightly and looked away.

“We jus talked and watched a movie and had some ice cream and stuff” She said

“LIAR” I yelled

“We made out” She said. Taz and I grinned at each other.

“Now Taz” I said

“Nyesm” Was her reply

“Just WHAT was that thump AJ and I heard last night?” I asked. Jenn started laughing

“Well… we kinda just you know fell off the bed… and stuff” She said with a massive grin on her face. Jenn and I cracked up laughing again.

Chapter 8

We were now on the Ferry going across to Manly beach. We were at the front watching the water and just talking.

“Last night was so amazing” Taz gushed with a smile on her face. Jenn and I glanced each other and knew straight away that she would talk about this the whole trip and than some.

“Mmhmm” Jenn mumbled. Taz didn’t need encouragement.

“When we got into his room he was so sweet and gentle. I think we stopped kissing once while he undressed me and it was because he didn’t know how to get my bra off” She said

“Nice” I said, not real enthusiastically, she didn’t notice.

“He laid me down and his hands just kinda roamed around and we kissed” She said with a sigh. Jenn looked at me and shook her head.

“He’s big huh Jai” She said nudging me

“I guess” I said with a chuckle

“I could feel ‘him’ pressing on my thigh and god it made me ache” She went on, staring out at the water as we cruised along the harbour.

“Taz, we don’t really wanna know” Jenn said. Taz ignored her.

“When he started fingering me, holy shit I nearly orgasmed right there. God his fingers are long” She whispered. I glanced around making sure no body was in ear shot, I didn’t want some stupid freelance journo to hear this.

I felt my mobile start to vibrate and heard the familiar ‘birdcall’ tone it makes when I get a text message.

“Tara, love we know you’re happy but we really don’t need to know the details” I said pulling my phone from my pocket. I opened the message and smiled when I saw it was from AJ.

“Ooohhh what’s that?” Jenn asked

“An SMS from AJ” I answered making sure they couldn’t read it.

I grinned too myself and quickly hit the options button and went to reply.

“Just said hi” I shrugged with a smile. I smiled even more when my phone went off again. Jenn and Taz looked at me. I grinned at them and opened the message.

I laughed out loud and went to reply.

I grinned and put my phone back in my pocket. As the Ferry pulled into the dock at Manly the 3 of us grabbed our bags and got off.

“So tell us about your night” Taz said to me as we walked through the wharf.

“Well it was good, I mean, we fucked and than we slept” I said with a shrug

“And the text messages?” Jenn asked

“He was just telling me about the interview, and I think he’s gonna meet up with us in a while” I said

“And Nick?” Taz asked

“I dunno, why don’t you sms Nick and ask him to come” I said

“That’s an idea” She said and got out her phone, typing the sms as we walked.

“Howie and I are going shopping this arfternoon” Jenn said

“Ooohhh” I grinned

“He’s such a sweetheart” She said with a sigh

“I’m happy for you Jenn” I said giving her a quick hug. She smiled. We went into a few shops and looked around before heading down through the street mall to the beach where we laid towels out and sat and talked. When my mobile started ringing I felt myself start to grin. I got it out of my pocket and glanced at Caller ID. It was AJ.

“Hey” I said answering it

“Nick and I are walking through the mall now, where are you guys?” He asked

“We’re down on the beach, I’ll meet you guys across the road from the mall though” I said standing up. Taz grinned at me. I waved and pointed back up to the cemented area.

“Ok sounds good” AJ said. Taz nodded and I started walking.

“How was the interview?” I asked walking up the ramp

“Oh god all I could think about was last night and jesus Christ” He groaned. I heard Nick laughing.

“Ok I’m near a sign straight across from the mall” I said

“Ok we’ll be there in a minute” He said. I spotted them through the crowd and smiled.

“I see you” I said

“Mmm I see you too. You look even sexier now than you did at breakfast” He said. Again Nick laughed.

“Settle petal there might be fns around” I said

“Ugh I’m sick of being famous” He said.

“Awww” I cooed nad waved. Nick waved back, But AJ just smiled.

“Ima hang up now” He said

“Buh hot stuff” I growled and hung up my phone. He shook his head and leaned over to tell Nick something. They crossed the road and Nick was the first to hug me.

“Heya Nicky” I grinned as he gave me a squeeze

“Taz down there?” He asked nodding down to the beach

“Mmhmm” I said as AJ wrapped his arms around me and planted a kiss on my cheek. We stepped apart but he held onto my hand, giving me a nervous glance. I smiled at him.

“Come gentlemen, I shall take you to our set up” I grinned and lead them down the ramp and over to where Taz and Jenn were laughing about something.

“Taz” Nick said. She looked up at him and grinned.

“Hey Nicky” She said. He sat down beside her. Jenn looked at me, than at our hands and than back to me with her eyebrows raised. I shrugged and sat, AJ behind me.. We talked for about half an hour or so before Jenn said she had to go and meet Howie back in the city. We said goodbye and AJ took her place beside me.

“How was your interview?” Taz asked them both.

“It was interesting” Nick said

“I’ll say” AJ added

“What was so interesting about it?” I asked

“AJ, tell them what was so interesting about it” Nick said with a grin. Both of us looked to AJ who sat up straighter.

“The girl asked what we did last night and I kinda got a little horny and I got hard only Nick noticed though thank god” AJ said. Nick was laughing very hard at this point

“What did you say?” I asked

“I said that we went out with you 2 and we danced and had fun and than we went back to the hotel and slept” He said. Nick was still laughing.

“Oh like you didn’t get one too remembering your night” AJ snapped.

“Well I gotta admit, I did get one” Nick grinned. Taz tried to hide her grin by looking down and playing in the sand, but I could tell.

“You guys are naughty” I said with a grin of my own.

“Hey, you wanna go for a walk?” AJ asked me

“Sure” I said with a smile. He stood and held out his hand.

“I’ve got my mobile if you need me Taz” I said as he pulled me up

“K” She said and waved us off. We wandered up towards the rock pools in silence, weaving through the few families spread out.

“Jai” He said after a while

“Yeah?” I answered. We’d reached the rock pools now and were standing near the water.

“Last night was really good” He said

“I know” I answered with a smile. He looked nervous about something.

“Was it a one night thing?” He asked. I was taken aback by his question

“Well I never thought of that. I mean. It was with Nick. DO you want it to be a one night thing?” I rambled.

“Well, I don’t know. What do you want?” He asked. I shrugged.

“If I were to say that I wanted more of it, would you think I was shallow?” He asked

“No” I answered quickly

“I mean I don’t just want sex, I’m not that shallow. I like you a helluva lot” He said. I grinned.

“I like you too” I answered

“So do you wanna like keep this goin?” He asked

“Yeah” I grinned

“Did you wanna put your stuff in my hotel room?” He asked. He almost looked shy.

“Geez, Aje, that’s a big step I mean, don’t you guys get media knockin on your hotel room doors and stuff? What if I opened it one morning in my underwear and it was a journo?” I asked

“Yeah you’re right. Maybe it’s too soon” He said pulling me closer. I just smiled. Eventually he kissed me.

“It’s gonna get confusing” I murmured as he held me against him

“What is?” He answered, kissing my forehead

“We both get called Jai” I whispered.

“We’ll come up with something” He said with a laugh.

“You know we should get back to the hotel, so you guys can get to the venue” I said

“Mmm” He answered resting his head on my shoulder. We walked back to our stuff and found Taz and Nick in a rather passionate embrace on her towel.

“Oi” I said nudging Nick with my foot. He looked up and grinned.

“We’re goin” I said

“Yeah we’re comin too” Nick said

“No you’re not, just breathing heavy” I grinned and picked up my towel, shaking it off and stuffing it in my bag. AJ took it off me and held my hand as we followed Nick and Taz back up to the cement.

“So?” I said to Taz as she turned to look at me

“1 word” She said

“Let me guess. Girlfriend?” I asked.

“How’d you know?” She asked grinning

“Me too” I said. Nick and AJ Laughed.

Chapter 9

I sat in the corner of the tiny dressing room the 3 of us had to share and relaxed myself, murmuring my mantra under my breath. I stood up and smiled at my 2 friends. They were doing their own warm up. Taz gave me a knowing smile and Jenn just grinned. I left the room and took 2 steps away from the door. I started doing my stretches, again murmuring my mantra under my breath. I was stretching my back by leaning backwards when I heard footsteps.

“Hmm, Kinky” Came Nicks voice

“You wish Taz could do this” I teased

“Ohh hell yes” He said. I laughed and lowered myself to the floor and lookin up at him

“She in there?” He asked nodding to the door

“Yep, jus go on in” I said. He smiled and pushed open the door. I sat against the wall, with my head back and my knees pulled up, breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth.

“Whatcha doin?” I heard AJ ask as he dropped beside me

“Getting ready for the show and yourself?” I asked

“Talkin to you” He said. I smiled, opened my eyes and looked at him.

“I can’t wait to go home” I said with a grin. After this show we were getting on a plane to go to Tamworth. He laughed and nudged me.

“There enough room for all of us in your house?” He asked

“Hell no, but I have sleeping bags and mattresses” I grinned.

“I hope I don’t have to sleep in a sleeping bag” He teased

“Nope. You and me get my bed, Taz and Nicky can have my sisters room, she lives here in Sydney so she won’t be needing it, Howie and Jenn can have mum and dads bed and I guess Bri and Kev can have the Futon and Sofa bed” I shrugged

“So you do have enough for us all” He grinned

“Yeah I guess. It’s gonna be a tight squeeze though” I said

“That’s nothing compared to sharing 1 hotel room between 5 guys” He said. I laughed and leaned my head on his shoulder.

“Hey Jai, it’s time to go” Jenn grinned popping her head out the door

“Ima comin” I answered and stood up. AJ stood and wrapped his arms around me.

“have a good show” He murmured in my ear, kissing my cheek gently

“I will” I said, smiling. He took my hand and we followed Taz, Nick and Jenn, to the side of the stage. Howie was there waiting. He pulled Jenn to the side and I saw that they had a rather passionate looking kiss. I also noticed Howie’s hand inching it’s way down her back towards her butt. A Techie handed me my guitar and I slung it over my shoulder and pulled my guitar pick from the pocket of my baggy jeans.

“Let’s go chicka’s” I said to my friends. The guys watched as we hugged each other and one by one filed onto the dark stage, going to our respective places/instruments. I plugged my guitar in and listened intently. I quickly put my ear piece in and heard Taz counting to herself quietly. When she got to 10 she counted us in and the lights came up as we started playing our first song of the set, Love Is, one of our own songs. Jenn did most of the lead in this one. I squinted to see the audience in the bright spot lights and smiled when I saw some of them having fun and dancing. When the song was finished, I started playing the riff to another.

“This is an old song but I hope you all like it anyway” Jenn said as I played the riff over and over, until she’d started the bass, than Taz kicked in with the drums.

“You spin me right round baby right round like a recod baby right round, round, round” We all sang together. It was another four counts before I stood back up to the mic.

“I, I get to know your name. Well I, to trace your private number baby. All I know is that to me you look like your lots of fun, I want some, want some” I sang and smiled when I saw a couple of girls in the audience singing along and dancing. Jenn and I took turns singing the verses and all of us sang on the Chorus. After that song we stopped and waited for about 10 seconds.

“Hiya!” I said into my mic and was met by a few hundred screams

“HEEEEELLLLLLOOOOOOOOO SYDNEY!” Taz yelled and I laughed. Jenn was shaking her head and chuckling.

“Howdy Ya’ll” Jenn grinned. I held my hand over my eyes and squinted into the audience, reading a couple of the signs that they were holding up.

“Let me guess who who guys are here to see” Taz said as she left her drum kit and stood beside Jenn

“The Backstreet Boys?” I asked

“Backstreet who?” Said Jenn with a puzzled expression over the screams

“I thought this was a forum for British Sky Broadcasting” She added, her eyes wide and her mouth open. I cracked up laughing and looked into the crowd, shrugging. I heard a couple of laughs.

“No seriously, we know you guys are here to see the BSB, but you can’t see them yet, because… well… we’ve got 15 more songs to go” Jenn said, sticking her tongue out. Taz and I laughed again.

`“Before we do our next song, who here likes Paris Hilton?” I asked and looked around. There were a fair few boo’s but I heard plenty of cheers too.

“Well, maybe we won’t sing that song” Taz said

“we should do that one” Jenn said

“Which one?” I asked, confused

“you know, that one” She said

“What one? Jenn, what?” I asked. Taz was dancing somewhere behind us

“BW” Jenn said

“oh THAT one” I said. There was a couple of laughs.

“we don’t really know it” Taz piped up

“So what if we make a mistake?” Jenn said

“yeah alright, let’s do it” I grinned.

“WOOT” Taz yelled out. Jenn and I both laughed.

“We kinda don’t have bongo’s or whatever so… Taz is a mean drummer so she’ll be cool” Jenn said

“Yeah you might not get what the song is at first, but trust me, you’ll know” I said. Taz counted us in and started the improvised drumbeat to Beautiful Woman. I came in with Guitar and Jenn on bass.

“How can I begin to tell you what ya do to me every time I hear ya more willin to wanna see ya. I know that there’s no use in, trying to explain my confusion but still I’m not complainin bout ma situation” I sang

“Let’s not talk about a possible ending” We all sang

“The very first time that I was lookin to be your fella I found my inspiration, hiding in your expression and so I put myself forward for you consideration” Jenn sang and the crowd absolutely went off. I turned my head to the side and saw AJ and Nick at the side of the stage, trying to hiude behind various Techies that were running around. We did the rest of our songs and made our way off stage.

“Jaime” One of the techies called out.

“Yeah?” I answered

“AJ told me to tell you that they’d be in the dressing room if you wanted to talk before going back to the hotel” He said. We’d planned that Jenn, Taz and I would go back to the hotel and get everyones stuff organized and in the van that would take us too the airport.

“Thanks” I said to him and followed Jenn towards the dressing room where the guys were.

“You boys dressed cos I’m comin in” Jenn yelled out before barging open the door. Kev looked up as he was pulling on his pants and grinned.

“You should come 20 seconds earlier, you would’ve caught us all in our jocks” He said. I laughed and slid onto one of the tables in the room.

Chapter 10

Back at the hotel we went through each of the rooms, gathering the stuff they’d left out together and putting all the bags in the hall way when we’d finished. By the time we’d shoved all of Nick’s clothes into various suitcases and bags we only had half an hour to get the van packed up. We sat my suit case infront of the doors of the elevator and loaded everything on it and than rod it down. Again we put my suitcase in front of the doors and unloaded it all, the hotel staff watching us with much curiosity. We got the van around the front and started packing it, a few fans showing up to see the boys. One of them recognised us.

“Jaime?” She asked cautiously

“Hey” I grinned at her, putting down the bags I was carrying

“You’re from Dysfunct right?” She asked

“Uh huh” I grinned

“Wow you guys are so cool, when are you releasing a cd?” She asked

“When we get signed to a record company” Jenn said laughing as she walked past. The girl laughed as the girls around her stared at me rather evilly.

“Do you get to talk to the guys?” She asked

“yeah we all hang out, heaps” I said smiling

“Wow, what are they like?” She asked, her eyes going wide

“Well, they’re pretty normal, I mean, they’re just like you and me except they’re a little bit more famous than you and me” I said. She nodded.

“Some of my friends said that they saw you and AJ on Manly beach holding hands” She said shyly

“Yeah, we were just being dickheads, mucking around, ya know?” I asked

“So you and him aren’t, like, together?” She asked

“Nah, we’re too different” I said with a smile, knowing full well that AJ and I had a LOT in common.

“Come on you lazy bitch, we gotta get this shit done before they get back” Taz said shoving me playfully

“Yeah, yeah, ima comin” I said and smiled at the girl. She smiled back and I picked up the bags, starting towards the van. I hoisted them into the back and spun around to come fce to face with AJ.

“Holy fucking shit” I exclaimed. He put his finger to his lips and nodded to the fans that were now talking to Jenn.

“What are you doin around the front doofus?” I whispered with a smile

“Came to see you” He answered wrapping his arms around me and leaning into me. I felt ‘him’ and felt myself smile.

“You a little excited sweetheart?” I cooed.

“Mmm like you wouldn’t believe” He murmured, pressing his forehead against mine.

“Hey you guys wanna take it inside?” Taz asked as she dumped another couple of bags in the back

“Here’s fine” AJ answered. She laughed and walked away, shaking her head.

“You shouldn’t be here Alexander, I just told your fans that we weren’t a couple” I said. He growled and let me go.

“I”ll be upstairs with the guys” He said. I waved him off and watched him go. He walked with his head down around the back of the hotel. I went over and grabbed the last bags and put them in the van, closing it and telling Mick the driver it was done. He nodded and told me to go get the boys.

“Come on Chicka’s we have ourselves a date with a plane, but first we need to get the rest of our luggage” I said. Jenn laughed

“You mean the guys?” She asked

“Uh huh, fat lumps expect to be waited on hand and foot” I said and got an idea.

“Hold that thought” I said pulling out my mobile and dialling the number I knew by heart.

“Whatchu doin?” Jenn asked. I held up my hand and flashed the girls a grin.

“Hey sexy baby” Came AJ’s voice

“Hey sweetie, you guys wanna come down now? The van’s ready” I cooed sweetly

“Hmm we’re all showering and stuff first, wanna join me?” He asked and I knew he was grinning

“Awww sure” I said

“Really?” he asked

“Uh huh, if you can wait a while” I said

“How long?” He asked

“10?” I asked

“Yeah ok, whatcha doin?” He asked

“I am just about to go into the bar” I said

“But really you’re comin to see me right?” He asked

“Uh huh” He said

“Sweet” he said

“You ladies care to join me in the piss up area?” I asked lookin at Jenn and taz

“So there” Taz said

“My name wouldn’t be Jennsinful if I didn’t go to the piss up area with you” Jenn grinned. I laughed and waved to the fans.

“You comin now?” AJ asked

“Uh huh, jus goin inside” I said

“Well I’ll be waiting in my room” He said

“Ok, toodles hott stuff” I grinned

“Cya” He answered. I hung up and grinned at the girls.

“I’d love to drink with ya’s but I have an appointment with the shower and a certain hottie” I grinned

“Leavin us for him I see” Taz pouted

“Yes, yes I am” I said. Taz’s mobile started ringing and she got it out of her pocket, looking at the caller id and grinning.

“Hello” She said pressing the answer button. She paused and listened.

“yeah we’re just goin into the bar, you’d better bring Howie” She said and grinned. I started laughing and waved, going over to the elevator, pressing the button and waiting.

“Jai” Called out Jenn. I turned around and looked at her

“Protection” She said. I laughed and flipped her off, knowing she had a point. I didn’t want to acknowledge that right now. The elevator opened and I stepped on, running smack into Nick who steadied me and laughed.

“Can’t get enough of me hun?” He asked

“You know it” I grinned. His hair was slick from the water and his arms a little red. I’m guessing he had a hot shower.

“She’s over there” I said. He grinned and headed over, Howie following, chuckling a little.. I pressed the button for our floor and leaned against the wall as I went up. The elevator stopped at the floor I wanted and I stepped out and walked down to AJ’s room. I knocked on the door and waited. When he opened it, all I noticed was the lump in his towel.
